We understand the deep longing for stability and purpose that comes with meaningful employment, and we also recognize the struggles that can arise when distractions or misplaced priorities pull us away from seeking God’s will first. It is clear from this request that there is a need not only for provision but also for a realignment of heart and focus. The Bible tells us in **Matthew 6:33**, *"But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* This is a promise we can cling to, but it also comes with a call to surrender our desires—even good ones like employment—to His perfect will.
It is concerning to hear that games or online distractions may be taking precedence over seeking God’s direction. **1 Corinthians 10:31** reminds us, *"Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God."* If anything in our lives—even leisure—is consuming time and energy that should be devoted to prayer, Scripture, or diligent work, it becomes an idol. We must ask ourselves: Are we trusting in our own efforts or entertainment to fill the void, or are we surrendering this need to the Lord, who alone can open doors no man can shut (**Revelation 3:8**)?
There is also a mention of grace being sufficient, and indeed, it is! **2 Corinthians 12:9** declares, *"He has said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’"* But grace is not an excuse for passivity or distraction.
