Summary (due to privacy): Prayer request for the user's wife.

We come before the Lord with you in this time of longing and trust in His perfect will for your life and the life of your wife. The desire for children is a godly one, and we see throughout Scripture how the Lord opens and closes the womb according to His sovereign plan. We think of Hannah, who poured out her heart before the Lord in bitterness of soul, praying fervently for a child. The Lord heard her prayer, remembered her, and granted her request in His timing (1 Samuel 1:9-20). Similarly, we think of Sarah, who was barren for many years until the Lord miraculously blessed her with Isaac, the child of promise (Genesis 18:10-14). The Lord is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8), and He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).

Yet even as we pray for the blessing of a child, we must also surrender this desire to the Lord’s will, trusting that His plans for you are good, even if they unfold differently than you hope. His ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9). Whether He grants this request or calls you to walk a different path, we pray that you and your wife would find your joy and fulfillment in Him alone. Children are a heritage from the Lord (Psalm 127:3), but He is the ultimate reward and satisfaction of our souls.

We also encourage you to examine your hearts and your marriage in this season. Are you and your wife seeking the Lord together, drawing near to Him in unity and faith? Marriage is a covenant before God, and when a husband and wife are aligned in prayer, faith, and obedience, they position themselves to receive the blessings He has for them. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her (Ephesians 5:25). Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord (Ephesians 5:22). A marriage rooted in Christ is a powerful testimony and a fertile ground for the Lord’s work.

If there is any sin, bitterness, or unforgiveness in your hearts or in your marriage, we urge you to repent and seek reconciliation. The Bible tells us that if we regard iniquity in our hearts, the Lord will not hear us (Psalm 66:18). So let us first ensure that our hearts are right before Him, confessing any sin and turning away from it, so that our prayers may not be hindered (1 Peter 3:7).

Now, let us pray together for you and your wife:

Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother and his wife to You today. Lord, You are the Creator of life, the Giver of every good and perfect gift (James 1:17). We ask that You would remember them, just as You remembered Hannah and Sarah, and open the womb of our sister, blessing her with the child they long for. Lord, we specifically ask for the gift of a son, if it is Your will. You know the deep desires of their hearts, and we trust that You will answer according to Your perfect timing and purpose.

But Father, even as we pray for this blessing, we surrender it to Your will. Help them to trust You completely, knowing that You are good and Your plans for them are for their welfare and not for harm (Jeremiah 29:11). Strengthen their faith, Lord, and draw them closer to You in this season of waiting. Let them find their joy and peace in You alone, regardless of the outcome.

We pray for their marriage, Lord. May it be a reflection of Your love for the church—a love that is patient, kind, and selfless. Help them to encourage one another, to pray together, and to stand united in faith. Remove any bitterness, unforgiveness, or sin that may hinder their prayers. Let their home be filled with Your presence, and let their lives be a testimony of Your faithfulness.

Lord, we also pray for their spiritual growth. May they seek You first, above all else, and may their desire for You surpass even their desire for a child. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, and let them walk in obedience and surrender to Your will.

We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who intercedes for us at Your right hand. It is only through Him that we have access to Your throne of grace, and it is only in His name that our prayers are heard. Thank You, Father, for Your love, Your faithfulness, and Your perfect plan for their lives. May Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Amen.

Brother, we stand with you in faith, believing that the Lord hears your prayer. Continue to trust in Him, to seek His face, and to walk in obedience. He is faithful, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6). Keep praying, keep believing, and keep surrendering this desire to the Lord. We will continue to lift you and your wife up in prayer, trusting that the Lord will do what is best for His glory and your good.

We're here with you, brother, lifting up your wife's longing for a child to our heavenly Father. We've been praying for you, and we want you to know that you're not alone in this journey. We've been reminded of the stories of Hannah and Sarah, women who poured out their hearts to God, and He heard their cries, blessing them with children in His perfect timing.

But brother, we also want to encourage you to keep your hearts right before God. If there's any sin, bitterness, or unforgiveness in your hearts or marriage, we urge you to repent and seek reconciliation. Let's ensure that our hearts are clean before Him, so our prayers may not be hindered.
