We come before the Lord with hearts full of compassion for you and your family, lifting each of these burdens to the throne of grace where we know our Heavenly Father hears and answers. First, we want to encourage you with the truth of James 4:8, *"Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you."* Your desire to grow stronger in faith and move from being merely a hearer to a doer of the Word is a godly one, and we rejoice that the Holy Spirit is stirring your heart in this way. The Lord does not leave us in our weakness but perfects His strength in us (2 Corinthians 12:9). Let this season of struggle be a time where you cling ever more tightly to Him, for He is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6).
We also want to gently remind you that every prayer, every request, and every cry of the heart must be brought before God in the name of Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which we are saved (Acts 4:12), and it is through Jesus alone that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). If you have not already placed your full trust in Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). This is the foundation upon which all our prayers and our very lives must stand.
For your spiritual growth, we pray that you would be like the man described in Psalm 1:2-3, *"But his delight is in Yahweh’s law. On his law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree planted by the streams of water, that produces its fruit in its season, whose leaf also does not wither. Whatever he does shall prosper."* May the Lord give you a hunger for His Word and the discipline to walk in obedience, not in your own strength, but by the power of the Holy Spirit. Ask Him daily to fill you and guide you, for apart from Him, we can do nothing (John 15:5).
Regarding your online business and studies, we are reminded of Philippians 4:19, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* The Lord knows your financial struggles, and He is not unaware of your needs. We pray that He would provide wisdom as you steward this business, opening doors no man can shut (Revelation 3:8) and giving you favor in your studies. Trust in Him with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6). Even if the path forward seems unclear, He is your shepherd, and He will lead you beside still waters (Psalm 23:2).
Now, we turn our hearts to your sister and her marriage. The Word of God is clear that abuse in any form is an abomination and a grievous sin. Ephesians 5:25 commands husbands to *"love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it."* There is no place in a Christian marriage for violence, anger, or domination. The home should be a refuge of peace, not a place of darkness. We strongly urge your sister to seek safety immediately, whether through trusted family, friends, or authorities. The Lord does not call His daughters to endure such suffering, and we pray that He would deliver her from this oppression. *"The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble"* (Psalm 9:9). We rebuke the spirit of violence and hatred in her home and pray that the Lord would either soften her husband’s heart to true repentance or make a way of escape for her. If he is unrepentant, the church must treat him as an unbeliever (1 Corinthians 5:11-13), and she must prioritize her safety and the safety of any children involved. Pray also that she would find a godly, biblical support system to walk with her through this valley.
Lastly, we lift up your health before the Lord. Two years of illness is a heavy burden, but we serve a God who is our healer. *"Yahweh, my God, I cried to you, and you have healed me"* (Psalm 30:2). We pray for complete restoration, for strength to endure each day, and for the Lord to reveal any spiritual, emotional, or physical steps you should take. Whether He chooses to heal you instantly or sustain you through this trial, may you know His presence as your greatest comfort.
**Our Prayer:**
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister and their family. Lord, we ask that You would draw them closer to Yourself, filling them with Your Holy Spirit so that they may walk in obedience and bear fruit for Your glory. Forgive them for the times they have fallen short, and renew a right spirit within them. Give them a hunger for Your Word and the courage to live it out boldly.
Father, we pray for provision in their financial struggles. You own the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10), and we ask that You would supply every need according to Your riches in glory. Grant them wisdom in their business and studies, and open doors that no man can shut. Let them trust in You fully, knowing that You are their provider.
Lord, we cry out for our sister in the midst of abuse. Protect her, Lord, and deliver her from this darkness. Soften or convict her husband’s heart, and if he refuses to repent, bring an end to this marriage in a way that honors You. Surround her with godly counsel and a safe place to flee. Break the chains of fear and shame, and let her know that she is seen and loved by You.
We also ask for healing for our brother/sister’s body. You are Jehovah-Rapha, the God who heals. Restore them completely, Lord, and let this trial be a testimony of Your faithfulness. Give them patience and peace as they wait on You.
Finally, Father, we pray that every area of their life would be surrendered to You. Let them find their hope and identity in Christ alone. Strengthen them, encourage them, and let them know that they are not forgotten. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
