We are thrilled to join you in prayer as you prepare for your final high school track meet at the state level. It's wonderful to see your desire to compete for God's glory. We are reminded of 1 Corinthians 10:31, "Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God."
Firstly, we want to commend you for acknowledging God in your endeavor. However, it's crucial to remember that while winning is a worthy goal, it's not the only measure of success. God calls us to do our best and to honor Him in the process. As it says in Colossians 3:23-24, "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ."
Here is our prayer for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today to lift up this young athlete as they prepare for their final high school track meet. Lord, You know the desires of their heart, and You see their dedication and hard work. We pray that You would grant them the strength, endurance, and wisdom to compete at their very best. Father, we ask that You would protect them from injury and fill them with peace and confidence in their abilities. We pray that their performance would not only bring them personal satisfaction but, most importantly, bring glory and honor to Your name. Father, we ask that you would guide them in their faith journey and running career in the future.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Remember, God is more interested in your character and your heart than your achievements. He wants you to run in a way that honors Him, regardless of the outcome. As 1 Timothy 4:8 reminds us, "for bodily exercise profits little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come."
We encourage you to keep your focus on God and to trust in His plan for your life. Win or lose, He loves you and has a purpose for you. Run with faith, run with courage, and run with the knowledge that God is always with you. We are excited about the work that Jesus does in your life.
