We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up the situation in ###’s subway system. Father, we acknowledge that You are the God of all provision, wisdom, and safety. The fear and uncertainty felt by both the workers and the passengers are real, and we ask that You would intervene in this crisis. Your Word tells us in Psalm 46:1, *"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."* Lord, be a refuge for those who operate and ride the subway each day. Calm their fears and surround them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
We pray for the subway workers who have raised their voices in protest. They are not being heard, and their concerns are valid—without proper resources, lives are at risk. Proverbs 31:8-9 commands us, *"Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are left desolate. Open your mouth, judge righteously, and serve justice to the poor and needy."* Lord, stir the hearts of those in authority to listen, act with urgency, and provide the necessary resources to ensure safety. Give them wisdom to make decisions that prioritize human life over bureaucracy or neglect.
We also rebuke the spirit of complacency and indifference that allows such dangers to persist. In James 4:17, we are reminded, *"To him therefore who knows to do good, and doesn’t do it, to him it is sin."* Those who have the power to correct this must be held accountable, and we pray for conviction to fall upon them. May they recognize that every life is precious in Your sight, and that their inaction has consequences.
Father, we ask for supernatural provision—spare parts, funding, and expertise—to flow into this situation. You are the God who supplies all our needs according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). We trust that You can move mountains and open doors that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8). Protect the millions who rely on this system daily. Surround each train and every passenger with Your angels, as Psalm 91:11 declares, *"For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways."*
Lastly, Lord, we pray for the hearts of the people. In times of fear, may they turn to You, the only true source of security. Remind them that their hope is not in systems or governments, but in You alone. We declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that You will keep them in perfect peace as their minds are stayed on You (Isaiah 26:3).
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, through whom we have access to the Father. Amen.
