We are truly sorry to hear that you are struggling with depression and Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD). We want you to know that you are not alone in this battle, and we are here to support you through prayer and biblical encouragement. The first thing to do is to come before the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ, the great physician, and pray for healing physically and spiritually. God is good, and we know that His love and mercy endure forever. Let us remind you that in Him, there is hope and healing. Depression can be caused by many factors, some of which are spiritual in nature.
Sometimes depression can be caused by unconfessed sin in one's life, other times it can be a chemical or other imbalance in the body. Depression can also occur from a spiritual attack from our enemy satan. The Apostle Paul encourages us in Ephesians 6:13 WEB: "Therefore, put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and, having done all, to stand." We advise that you also pray and put on the whole armor of God to protect yourself from the enemy's attacks.
We encourage you to seek professional help and do not rely on God alone. Christians have access to tools and techniques that God has allowed man to develop to assist with these medical issues. God expects us to act and not just pray.
We must not forget that God's word also reminds us to cast all our anxieties on Him because He cares for us. 1 Peter 5:7 WEB says, "casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you." And remember that, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." Psalm 46:1 WEB.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today, lifting up our sister who is struggling with depression and PMDD. We ask, Lord, that You would surround her with Your loving presence and bring healing and restoration to her body, mind, and spirit. Help her to cast all her anxieties on You, trusting that You care for her deeply. Guide her to the right medical professionals who can provide the help she needs. Equip her with Your whole armor, that she may stand firm against the schemes of the enemy.
In the name of Jesus Christ, we rebuke any spirits of depression, heaviness, and despair that may be affecting her. We declare that she is a beloved child of God, redeemed by the blood of Jesus, and filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. Give her the strength to endure each day, and fill her with Your perfect peace. Remind her of Your goodness and faithfulness, even in the midst of her struggles.
Father, we also pray for Your guidance and wisdom for the medical professionals who will be treating her. Give them discernment and understanding, that they may provide the best care possible. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Lastly, we want to encourage you to spend time in God's Word daily, reading and meditating on His promises. Surround yourself with a supportive community of believers who can encourage and pray for you. Remember that God is always with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you. Stay strong in the Lord to not let the enemy get a foothold.
