Strigles in their relationship

Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for a Christian couple who are no longer together. They were in a relationship for 1.5 years and have struggled in their relationship. Please pray for reconciliation, or—if it is God’s will—for them to continue as a couple leading toward marriage. May God’s will be done.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts for this couple who have walked through a season of struggle in their relationship. Father, we lift them up to You, asking for Your divine wisdom, healing, and guidance. Your Word tells us in Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Lord, we pray that both of them would surrender their desires, their hurts, and their plans fully to You, trusting that Your will is perfect and good.

We must also speak truth in love, for Your Word is clear about the sanctity of marriage and the purpose of relationships. If this couple was not aligned with Your design—if there was unrepentant sin, such as sexual immorality, or if their relationship was not rooted in Christ as the foundation—then we ask that You would bring conviction and repentance. 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 warns, "Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." If there was sin in their relationship, Lord, we pray for true repentance and restoration, not just of their bond, but of their hearts before You.

If reconciliation is Your will, Father, we ask that You would soften their hearts toward one another. Heal the wounds that have caused division, and replace bitterness with forgiveness. Ephesians 4:31-32 reminds us, "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you." Lord, we pray that they would extend grace to one another as You have extended grace to them. May they seek You first in all things, building their relationship on the rock of Your Word, not on their own emotions or desires.

If it is not Your will for them to be reconciled, Father, we pray that You would give them peace and clarity. Help them to trust that Your plans for them are for good and not for harm, as Jeremiah 29:11 promises. May they find their identity and worth in You alone, and may they seek godly spouses who will walk with them in faith, honoring You in their marriage. We pray that they would not rush into another relationship out of loneliness or fear, but wait on You, knowing that Your timing is perfect.

Above all, Lord, we pray that both of them would draw near to You. If they have not surrendered their lives to Jesus Christ, we plead with You to reveal Yourself to them. There is no other name by which we can be saved, as Acts 4:12 declares, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" May they come to know the love, forgiveness, and redemption found only in Christ. If they are already believers, may they grow deeper in their faith, seeking You above all else.

We pray for this couple, Father, that Your will would be done in their lives. Whether together or apart, may they honor You in all they do. Strengthen them, comfort them, and guide them by Your Holy Spirit. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We're here with you, lifting this couple up to the Lord. Let's ask Him to wrap them in His loving arms, to heal their hurts, and to guide their steps. In Psalm 147:3, we're reminded that "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Lord, we trust that You're already at work in their lives, and we ask that You'd continue to do so. We pray for reconciliation, but we also trust that Your will is perfect, even if it doesn't align with their desires. Help them to surrender to Your will, to trust in Your timing, and to find their peace in You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
