storms

Faithful Servant
If we get storms please ask God that if it is His will we can keep our power because of the heat. I ask in the name of Jesus. Thank you and God bless you. ###

We hear your concern about the storms and the potential loss of power, especially in the midst of heat. We understand how challenging it can be to endure such conditions, and we join you in seeking God’s protection and provision.

The Bible reminds us in Psalm 121:7-8, "The Lord will protect you from all evil. He will keep your soul. The Lord will watch over your coming and going from now on and forever more." We can trust that God is our refuge and strength, even in the midst of storms, both literal and figurative. We also recall Jesus’ words in Matthew 8:26-27, when He calmed the storm with a rebuke, demonstrating His authority over nature. While we may not always understand why storms come, we can rest in the knowledge that God is in control and that His will is perfect.

We also recognize the importance of praying in alignment with God’s will, as you have done. In 1 John 5:14-15, we read, "This is the boldness which we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him." Your prayer reflects a humble and trusting heart, acknowledging that God’s will is supreme.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this concern about the storms and the potential loss of power. Lord, we ask that if it is Your will, You would spare the power and protect homes and communities from the effects of these storms. We know that You are sovereign over all creation, and nothing is beyond Your control. We trust in Your goodness and Your perfect plan, even when we do not understand it.

Father, we also ask for Your provision and comfort for those who may face difficulties during these storms. Give them strength, peace, and wisdom to endure whatever comes their way. Remind them that You are their refuge and that You never leave nor forsake them. Help us all to trust in You more deeply and to seek Your will in all things.

We thank You for hearing our prayers, Lord, and for the assurance that You are working all things together for good for those who love You. May Your name be glorified in all circumstances. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking God’s will in all things and to trust in His faithfulness. Even in the midst of uncertainty, we can find peace in knowing that He holds the future. If the storms do come and the power is lost, remember that God is still present, and He will provide what you need to endure. Lean on Him, and He will sustain you.

We’re right there with you in this, we know how unsettling it can be when storms are in the forecast and the heat is already pressing. Thank you for reaching out so we can stand with you.

While we pray earnestly for the Lord to sustain your power, we’re also reminded that God often gives us simple, practical ways to walk through uncertain days with a steadier heart. If it would ease your mind at all, you might tuck a small emergency kit together: a few bottles of water, a battery‑operated fan, a flashlight, and a couple of cooling towels. Having a plan for where you could go to stay cool if the outage stretched on, even just a friend’s house or a nearby community center, can quietly settle the spirit. None of that replaces prayer, but it can be a way of trusting God with the feet He’s given us.

We are asking the Lord to be your shelter and your shade, in the storm and in the heat. And we are asking that, if it pleases Him, your power stays on so your home remains a refuge.

Father, we lift up this home to You right now. You know the storms that may come and the weight of the heat. Please, in Your mercy, keep their electricity steady and their household safe. Guard them from harm, give them wisdom to prepare, and hold their hearts in peace, nothing panicked, just quiet confidence in Your care. We ask this in the strong name of Jesus, who calmed the wind and waves. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The howling of the wind and the crash of the thunder are but the voice of our God, who rides upon the storm. You do well to cry to Him whose power holds the very elements in their courses. Yet consider this, our safety lies not in the keeping of electric lines and cooling apparatus, but in our Savior, who is able to keep us from falling. The same power that steadies the mountain's brow when the dread artillery of heaven is splitting it to shivers, that Omnipotent hand is turned toward His little ones. He heard His own Son from the horns of the unicorns, and He hears you.

Prayer is no romantic fiction, but a real power. When you plead before your God as your covenant God, your arrows stick in the center of the target. Yet remember, the power is not in you, nor in any meritorious claim you bring, but in the tender name you may cry, "Abba! Father!" That gives us power in our greatest weakness. Ask, but let your asking spring from an undivided heart. For when the storm rises and the heat threatens, the heart often reveals its true treasure. Does it cling to the fading comfort of the air, or to the eternal safety of the soul? Many cry to God in the gale who forget Him in the calm. Strain the sinews of your supplications, but let the great object be that you might be kept from the far greater danger of a divided heart. What profite it a man if his house stands cool and his power holds, but his heart remains unnewed by grace? The very nature of such a change is beyond all power of man; it requires a power from above. Pray, then, that His healing power would first keep your soul from falling, and then trust your frail comforts to Him who orders the lightning and appoints the heat.

He who commanded the winds and waves knows your need even before you ask. When the dark clouds gather and the thunder rolls, remember that the inner heaven of your soul need not be darkened. The sky remains bright above the storm, though clouds cover it for a time. So too, your heart may dwell in peace, untroubled by outward tempests, if you fix your gaze on the Sun of Righteousness. Tribulation, like a sudden storm, passes over the heaven-bound soul but cannot stain it. For God has made you able to rise above the rains and fierce gales, to stand where these things cannot reach, if you will.

Do not be anxious for the comfort of the body, though the heat be great and the power fail. The body needs only what health requires, not what wantonness demands. A little refreshment is enough for the stomach's sake, but the soul's safety is of far greater weight. Your request shows humility, placing the matter in His will, and this is the very head of virtue. A contrite heart is a sacrifice to God, and He is near to such. Trust His power, which works through contraries: by seeming want, He may grant unseen riches; by discomfort, He may strengthen the inner man. The loss of earthly ease often becomes the gain of heavenly treasure.

Do not think it a small thing to be without power in the heat. It may be that this very trial is a spiritual offering, a cooling of the flesh's demands. The present life is but a sleep, and its inconveniences are as fleeting dreams. When the day breaks, they vanish. Even if you suffer now, remember the great cloud of holy witnesses who endured far more. Their memory refreshes the weary soul like a cloud shading from scorching rays. In all things, God's judgments are unsearchable, but His ways are sure. Commend yourself to Him, and whether the power stays or departs, you will possess a peace the world cannot give.

I join you in lifting this request to the Lord. You’ve already anchored it well: “if it is His will,” asking in the name of Jesus. That’s the very heart of confident prayer, because Scripture assures us that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if He hears us, we know we have what we’ve asked.

The heat and the threat of storms press on your mind, but don’t let that weight crush you. Learn to turn the whole situation over to God. See it not through the lens of your own weakness, but through His limitless power. He who spoke the universe into being is fully able to sustain you, whether by keeping your power on during the storm, or by giving you a supernatural strength to endure the heat if it goes off. He makes your very strength like iron. He doesn’t promise the absence of storms, but He does promise to be your light in any darkness that follows.

When you don’t know exactly what to pray, the Spirit Himself helps you in your weakness and intercedes with groanings that words can’t express. God knows your need, and He will answer according to His perfect will. My prayer joins yours: that His will be done, and that you would rest in the calm assurance that you are held in hands far bigger than any weather system. He will sustain you. Cast the burden on Him and let your heart sing praise in advance, because He is good and He will deliver you.
