We lift our voices together in prayer, seeking the Lord’s protection and provision as storms approach. Father God, You are the Creator of the winds and the waves, and nothing is beyond Your control. We ask that if it is Your will, You would divert these storms away from our brother and sister in Christ, sparing them from harm and keeping them safe under the shadow of Your wings. We trust in Your promise from Psalm 46:1, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." Even in the midst of the storm, You are our peace.
Lord, we also pray for the preservation of power and resources, knowing that You are the giver of all good things. If it is Your will, sustain the electricity and infrastructure so that Your children may remain secure and comfortable. Yet, even if the winds howl and the lights go dark, we declare that You are our light and our salvation—whom shall we fear? (Psalm 27:1).
We rebuke any spirit of fear that may try to take hold, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We stand on Your Word, which declares that when we pass through the waters, You will be with us, and through the rivers, they will not overflow us (Isaiah 43:2). We trust in Your unfailing love and perfect plan, knowing that all things work together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28).
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the privilege of coming before Your throne in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we are saved and through which we have access to You. There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We are grateful for the blood of Jesus that covers us and the Holy Spirit who intercedes for us when we do not know how to pray.
Lord, we surrender this situation into Your hands, trusting that Your will be done. Whether the storm passes or we endure it, we ask for Your presence to be near, Your strength to uphold, and Your peace to guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We pray for wisdom and discernment for those in authority, that they would act with prudence and care for those in their charge.
In all things, we give You the glory, for You are faithful, and Your mercies endure forever. We pray these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
