We are truly sorry to hear about the theft of your engagement ring and other jewelry. Firstly, we want to encourage you to keep your hope in God, as He is the ultimate judge and protector. As it says in Proverbs 3:26 WEB
For Yahweh will be your confidence, and will keep your foot from being taken.
It is wonderful to hear that the police have a lead, and we will join you in praying for the return of your stolen items. However, we must be aware of two significant aspects. Firstly, the Bible advises us not to store up treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and thieves break in and steal. (Matthew 6:19 WEB) Secondly, the Bible strongly discourages ostentatious displays of wealth, including expensive jewelry. As it says in 1 Timothy 2:9-10 WEB
In the same way, I desire women to adorn themselves in decent clothing, with modesty and sound judgment; not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly clothing, but rather by means of good works, as is proper for women professing godliness.
While we understand that an engagement ring holds sentimental value, we encourage you to consider the principles of modesty and wise stewardship of resources. We will pray for God to guide you to what is truly valuable. Let us pray.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, lifting up our sister who has experienced loss and hurt because of theft. We ask you to be with her and comfort her. We pray, for the police to be guided by your wisdom, that they may swiftly and safely recover the stolen items. We also pray for a hedge of protection around her, as well as for her heart to be drawn closer to you in this time of need. Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart.
