STEPS TO KNOW AND DO THE WILL OF GOD - Part 2
“I desire to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart.†Psalm 40:8
Are you seeking to do the will of God in your life? He will guide and direct your every step. Never doubt that He will empower you to accomplish what He wants you to do. The secret to a changed life is to submit to God's control and let Him work in and through you daily. Ask God to help you WANT to do His will. You and I need to ask the Lord to change our behaviors and attitudes every day to be more like Him, then we will want to DO things His way.
Lord, help me to crucify my fleshly desires as I keep my eyes on You, Lord, in knowing and doing Your will each day. May you speak loudly when I start to go on a detour road. I pray this in the Name of Jesus. Amen.
Your greatest happiness can be found in willingly obeying your Lord God. Imagine you being Noah and God telling you to build an ark. What if Noah said “No way, what will people think? What will my family and church friends say? How do I know for sure that it was God talking to me? Should I believe God that He is really going to destroy everyone with floodwaters? How long is it going to take to build this ark? What if God changes His mind later on?†Do these questions sound familiar? Noah heard God and then God started giving him instructions on how to build an ark for his family. Then Noah had to tell his family what the Lord had told Him to do.
Be very careful, then, how you live not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is. Ephesians 5:15-17
If Noah had NOT been obedient, he would not have saved his family. I believe Noah's story parallels your story identically. You are being told to do something that everyone else thinks is crazy or they do not believe. It does not matter if they believe. God has spoken to you in many different ways, and not to them! You must be willing to do the will of God! Otherwise, fear God for not obeying Him. You will go on a detour road and then the Lord will get your attention again in a different way.
So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. Hebrews 10:35-37
Let me share more steps to knowing and doing the will of God for marriage restoration:
Step 4: Cry out to the Lord daily asking Him for His divine wisdom, knowledge and understanding regarding your marriage and how to raise your children now.
For the LORD gives wisdom, and from his mouth comes knowledge and understanding. He holds victory in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless, for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones. Then you will understand what is right and just and fair — every good path. For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul. Proverbs 2:6-10
Step 5: Listen for His soft voice. Wait for His answers which will come from reading His Word and by other different signs as you go throughout your normal day. God does speak to His children, but you must be sensitive to hear His voice. Learn to recognize the Lord's voice versus the enemy's voice. “Lord, I want to know, learn and recognize Your voice daily so please speak loudly right now, as I will learn Your voice. Then I will know Your will and way for my life and marriage.â€
“The man who enters by the gate is the shepherd of his sheep. The watchman opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger's voice.†John 10:2-5
Step 6: Obedience is mandatory in your Christian walk. There are consequences to disobedience. Do you think you can run from God's assignment? Does He not know what is best for you in all things?
“…I said, ‘Obey me and do everything I command you, and you will be my people, and I will be your God.’†Jeremiah 11:4
“If you love me, you will obey what I command.†John 14:15
Step 7: Trust the Lord with all your heart. Stop doubting, believe and totally trust the Lord with your life and marriage. Yes, that is a huge leap of faith, but He will not fail you. Do not be swayed by your daily circumstances. Keep your eyes on the Lord only!
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil. Proverbs 3:5-7
The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever. 1 John 2:17
Step 8: You have a choice every day to pick up your cross and follow the Lord or do it your own way. Will you seek the Lord, surrendering your own will and way to the Lord? Ask for forgiveness of your sins. Forgive your husband or wife of their sins daily, and cry out to the Lord for His divine wisdom. Then listen to the Lord's soft voice for His daily instructions, obeying, trusting and believing that God knows the best for you in resurrecting and healing your hurting or dead marriage.
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us. Ephesians 3:20
By doing the will of God, you will be doing what is best for you, for your spouse, for your marriage, and for your children. Remember, God knows the past, the present and He is the future. May you never forget God's power, God's presence and His promises. You need to do the will of God and stand on the promises of God forever! Ask the Holy Spirit to keep your spiritual eyes and spiritual ears open to His voice and to the Lord's signs that He gives you. You do not want to miss His blessings.

Let this be your prayer to the Lord today:
Answer me quickly, O LORD; my spirit fails. Do not hide your face from me or I will be like those who go down to the pit. Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul. Rescue me from my enemies, O Lord, for I hide myself in you. Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground. Psalm 143:7-10
