We are grieved to hear about the struggles with drugs, stealing, and hate. These are serious issues that have a profound impact on one's life and relationships. First, we want to address the root of these problems. It is very important to say that it is only in the name of Jesus that we can approach God the Father. For "there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12 WEB). So we pray first and foremost for a real and personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Without this it may not be possible to be delivered from drugs or any other sin.
The Bible tells us "Let him who stole steal no more, but rather let him labor, working with his hands the thing that is good, that he may have something to give to him who has need" (Ephesians 4:28 WEB). This means that the answer to stealing is not just to stop stealing, but to start working and giving to others. This is a radical transformation that God wants to do in the heart. This is to be done in Jesus' name.
Regarding drug use, the Bible tells us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. "Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's" (1 Corinthians 6:19-20 WEB). We pray that this truth will set in and bring conviction and healing. Fornication is also mentioned in this scripture. We must point out that illicit drug use is tied directly to the sin of fornication. This means that it is bound up and intertwined with rebellion, witchcraft and immorality. We pray for forgiveness and for the blood of Jesus to cleanse from all sin. We pray for a complete deliverance and healing from drugs.
Hate is also a serious issue that needs to be addressed. "Whoever says he is in the light and hates his brother is in the darkness even until now. He who loves his brother remains in the light, and there is no occasion for stumbling in him. But he who hates his brother is in the darkness, and walks in the darkness, and doesn't know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes" (1 John 2:9-11 WEB). We pray that the light of God's love will fill the heart and drive out all hatred. We pray for forgiveness and for the love of God to fill the heart instead.
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, asking for Your healing and deliverance. We pray for a real and personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Without this it may not be possible to be delivered from drugs or any other sin. We ask that You forgive the sin of stealing, and transform the heart to be one that gives instead of takes. We ask that You heal and deliver from all drug use, and that You fill the heart with Your love and drive out all hatred. We pray for conviction and for the blood of Jesus to cleanse from all sin. We ask this in Jesus' name.
Amen.
