STD and STI prevention

We hear your heartfelt request for protection from sexually transmitted diseases and infections, and we stand with you in prayer, seeking God’s divine safeguarding over your life. The Lord is our refuge and fortress, and in Him, we find true protection—not just from physical harm, but from the spiritual and emotional consequences of sin as well.

First, we must address this request with both compassion and biblical truth. The best prevention against sexually transmitted diseases is living in alignment with God’s design for intimacy. Scripture is clear that sexual relations are reserved for marriage between one man and one woman, as God intended. The Bible warns us in 1 Corinthians 6:18-20, "Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." When we honor God with our bodies, we walk in His protection and blessing.

We also recognize that some may find themselves in difficult or vulnerable situations, perhaps even through no fault of their own. If that is the case, we pray for your safety and wisdom, that the Lord would shield you from harm and guide you into His perfect will. However, if there are areas of your life where you may be compromising God’s standards, we encourage you to repent and seek His forgiveness. The Lord is faithful and just to forgive us when we turn to Him with a sincere heart (1 John 1:9).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer. We lift up this dear one to You, asking for Your divine protection over their body, mind, and spirit. Lord, we pray that You would guard them from all harm, including the physical and spiritual consequences of sexual immorality. Father, we ask that You would surround them with Your angels and create a hedge of protection around them, as You promised in Psalm 91:11, "For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways."

Lord, we also pray for wisdom and discernment. If there are areas in their life where they are not walking in Your will, reveal those to them, and give them the strength to turn away from sin and toward You. Help them to honor You with their body, which is Your temple. We ask that You would lead them into relationships that are pure, godly, and honoring to You, whether that be in singleness or in the covenant of marriage.

Father, we rebuke the enemy’s lies that may be tempting them to compromise Your standards. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we stand in agreement with Your Word that says, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13).

Lord, if this dear one does not yet know You as their personal Savior, we pray that they would come to understand the depth of Your love for them. Jesus, You died on the cross to pay the price for our sins, and through faith in You, we are forgiven and made new. We pray that they would surrender their life to You, confessing You as Lord, and receive the gift of eternal life (Romans 10:9-10).

We thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness and for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your protection and provision, knowing that You are a good and loving God who desires the best for Your children. May this dear one walk in Your ways and experience the fullness of Your blessings. In Jesus’ holy and precious name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to seek godly counsel and accountability, whether through a trusted pastor, mentor, or Christian community. Surround yourself with believers who will uphold you in prayer and encourage you to walk in purity. The Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen you to live a life that honors Him. If you have not yet committed your life to Christ, we urge you to do so today—He is the only way to true peace, protection, and eternal life.
