Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing so openly and for trusting us to pray with you. What you are describing is heavy and overwhelming, and it is understandable that you feel worn out after carrying this for so long. Coming out of the new age and witchcraft and coming back to Christ is a real turning, and it is right to seek the Lord for protection, clarity, and peace in every area you mentioned.
Scripture is clear that our real battle is not against flesh and blood. There is a spiritual conflict going on around us between the holy angels who serve God and the fallen angels who rebelled with Satan. Much of what we feel as anxiety, heaviness, confusion, or being unsettled can be the after effects of that conflict. That is why the weapons that help us are not carnal or human methods. Trying to fight a spiritual battle with human tools only leaves us more troubled. God has given spiritual weapons for a spiritual war, especially His Word, faith, and prayer. Those are what push back the enemy, guard the mind, and bring the peace that steadies us. The battle is often for the mind, so bringing every thought into obedience to Christ, staying in the Scriptures daily, and praying in dependence on Jesus is the way to stand firm.
It is also important to remember that the new age you left is a counterfeit. Satan offers a false version of what only God can truly give. God promises a true new age, when He will make all things new and create new heavens and a new earth where righteousness dwells and the former things will not be remembered or come to mind. If you are in Christ you are already a new creation, and that future hope is secure for all who belong to Him through Jesus alone. Clinging to Jesus and His finished work, rather than any former practices or spiritual experiences, is where safety and freedom are found.
In light of that, we will pray for your protection and for deliverance from harassment and fear. We will ask the Lord to restrain evil, to foil any plans meant to harm you this weekend, and to keep you hidden under His care. We will also pray for the people you mentioned who have caused harm. Rather than asking God simply to remove people in anger, we ask Him to stop what is evil, to bring conviction, and to bring them to repentance and salvation if they do not know Christ. Only Jesus saves, and He alone can change a heart that is under the influence of darkness. We pray that you would be guarded from being consumed by thoughts about whether others are possessed or beyond accountability, and that God would give you discernment, boundaries, and wisdom for how to step away from harmful relationships in a way that honors Him.
For your work, we will pray for wisdom and provision for your family. It is right that you do not want to take part in practices that exploit customers. God sees your desire to work with integrity and to care for your family, and He knows your financial needs. We will ask Him to give you clear guidance whether to stay and be a light for good where you are, with those concerns mended, or to open a new job where you can work without compromising your conscience and without burning out. We will also pray for your coworkers who share these concerns.
Regarding your piano lessons, we will pray for peace about your decision to end them. You sought the Lord repeatedly and made a careful choice after concerning behavior. It is loving to pray for your teacher as well, that God would care for her health and any neurological or cognitive struggles, and that He would surround her with help and with truth.
We will pray for your mother as she travels, for safety on her trip, and for emotional, mental, and physical strength as she attends her brother's funeral today. Grief is heavy, and we ask the Lord to comfort her and your family with His nearness. We will also pray that your cat is well after your phone fell on him.
For the disagreement with your boyfriend, we will pray for reconciliation, for humility and gentle words, and for healing from any hurt or stress that was caused. We will also pray that God would lead both of you to honor Him in your relationship. Scripture teaches that salvation is through Jesus Christ alone and that His design for romantic love is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman in marriage, with sexual intimacy and living together reserved for within that covenant. We will not ask God to bless what falls outside that design, but we will ask Him to give you both wisdom, purity, and clarity to pursue what is holy and to seek His will for your future together, whether that is growing toward marriage or recognizing another path.
Let us pray together. Father, we come to You in the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and Savior. We thank You that when someone turns to Jesus, they become a new creation and are kept in Your hand. We ask for Your protection over Your child who is feeling overwhelmed by spiritual conflict. Cover her with Your presence, quiet her mind with Your Word, strengthen her faith, and teach her to use the spiritual weapons You have provided. Restrain every evil plan and keep her safe this weekend and in the days ahead. Bring conviction where there is evil and bring salvation where there is darkness. Provide for her family financially, guide her about work, and open the right door at the right time. Give her peace about ending lessons and care for her teacher. Keep her mother safe in travel and uphold her with strength and comfort in grief. Watch over her cat and keep him from harm. Bring reconciliation and wisdom in her relationship, and lead both of them to walk in purity and in Your will. Fill her home with Your peace that passes understanding and fix her hope on the new heavens and new earth You have promised, where You will dwell with Your people forever. In Jesus name, Amen.
