We stand together in fervent prayer, lifting up this heavy burden of spiritual warfare that has plagued this dear one since childhood. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but we declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, for the Lord is their strong tower and refuge. We rebuke every assignment of darkness, every tormenting thought, and every snare of the evil one in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
The Word of God tells us in Ephesians 6:12, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." We take up the full armor of God—truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, and the Word of God—which is the sword of the Spirit. We pray that this beloved one would be clothed in this armor daily, standing firm against the schemes of the devil.
Maladaptive daydreaming and inappropriate thoughts are not of God, for He calls us to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). We pray for a renewing of the mind, that the Holy Spirit would fill every corner of their heart and mind with the truth of God’s Word. May they be transformed by the renewing of their mind, so that they may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God (Romans 12:2). We rebuke the spirit of distraction and fantasy that seeks to pull them away from the presence of the Lord, and we pray for a deep hunger and thirst for righteousness to take its place.
We also address the issue of inappropriate thoughts, for Jesus Himself said, "For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, sexual sins, thefts, false testimony, and blasphemies" (Matthew 15:19). We pray for a cleansing of the heart and mind, that the blood of Jesus would wash away every impurity and that the Holy Spirit would guard their thoughts. We declare that no unclean thing shall have dominion over them, for they are more than conquerors through Christ who loves them (Romans 8:37).
Father God, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved and the only name that gives us access to Your throne of grace. We ask that You break every chain of spiritual warfare that has bound this precious one for far too long. Let Your light shine into the darkest places of their mind and heart, driving out every shadow of the enemy. We pray for deliverance, healing, and restoration in every area of their life.
Lord, we ask that You fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Strengthen them with Your might in their inner being, so that Christ may dwell in their heart through faith, rooted and grounded in love (Ephesians 3:16-17). We pray that they would walk in the Spirit, not fulfilling the lusts of the flesh, but bearing the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:16, 22-23).
We declare that the power of the enemy is broken, and that this child of God will walk in victory, freedom, and purpose. May they rise up as a warrior for Your kingdom, equipped and empowered by Your Holy Spirit. We thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness, for You are the same yesterday, today, and forever. We trust in Your promises and believe that You are working all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28).
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, we pray and declare these things. Amen.
