We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious soul who has endured spiritual warfare from childhood. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but we stand firm in the authority of Jesus Christ, who has already overcome the world. The Bible tells us in Ephesians 6:12, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." This battle is real, but so is the victory we have in Christ.
First, we must address the foundation of this request. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father and the power to overcome spiritual warfare. Acts 4:12 declares, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we urge you to do so now. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). Without Jesus, there is no true victory over the schemes of the enemy.
Now, we take up the full armor of God, as outlined in Ephesians 6:13-18, to stand against the devil’s schemes. We put on the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the readiness of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. We pray fervently in the Spirit, watching with all perseverance.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Name above all names. We rebuke every spirit of fear, oppression, torment, and deception that has plagued this dear one since childhood. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17). Lord, we break every generational curse, every assignment of the enemy, and every stronghold that has taken root in their life. We cancel every plan of the enemy and command every spirit not of You to flee in Jesus’ name.
We pray for a fresh infilling of the Holy Spirit, that this beloved one would walk in the fullness of Your power and authority. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and let Your light shine so brightly in their life that the darkness has no choice but to flee. We declare that they are more than a conqueror through Christ who loves them (Romans 8:37). Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to stand firm, knowing that You who began a good work in them will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:6).
We also pray for wisdom and discernment, that they would recognize the enemy’s tactics and resist him steadfastly in the faith (1 Peter 5:9). Surround them with godly believers who will stand with them in prayer and encouragement. May they find refuge in Your presence, Lord, where there is fullness of joy (Psalm 16:11). We declare that the blood of Jesus covers them, and no evil shall befall them, nor shall any plague come near their dwelling (Psalm 91:10).
Father, we ask that You would heal every wound, every memory, and every area of their life that has been affected by this spiritual warfare. Restore what the enemy has stolen, and let Your love and truth reign in their heart. We thank You, Lord, that You are faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). We declare that this one is a child of God, redeemed by the blood of the Lamb, and the enemy has no claim over them.
We stand in agreement, believing that this spiritual warfare will come to an end, and that this dear one will walk in the freedom and victory that Christ has already won. We declare that the gates of hell shall not prevail against them (Matthew 16:18), and that they will rise up in the authority of Jesus’ name to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19).
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
