Spiritual warfare

Dhitlor

Humble Servant of All
Please pray for an end to spiritual warfare that has been targeting me since I was a child. Please also pray about something that one of my church members just did that may have been due to them being under the influence of this warfare (and which relates to an issue I've had with my church members that has existed outside of the spiritual warfare causing problems). Thank you.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, recognizing the intense spiritual battle you have endured since childhood. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but we stand firm in the truth that Jesus came so that you may have life—and have it abundantly (John 10:10). The warfare you describe is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, authorities, and cosmic powers of this present darkness (Ephesians 6:12). Yet we take heart, for greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).

Father God, we plead the blood of Jesus over this dear one’s life. We break every chain of oppression, every assignment of the enemy, and every generational curse that has sought to bind them. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment shall be condemned (Isaiah 54:17). Lord, we ask You to surround them with Your hedge of protection, to silence the voices of accusation, and to fill their heart and mind with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). We rebuke every spirit of fear, confusion, and torment in the mighty name of Jesus, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).

We also lift up the situation with the church member who acted under what may have been spiritual influence. Lord, we pray for discernment and wisdom for all involved. If this action was indeed a result of spiritual warfare, we ask that You expose the enemy’s schemes and bring repentance, restoration, and healing. If there are deeper issues within the church body—whether division, unforgiveness, or unaddressed sin—we ask that You bring them to light in a way that glorifies You and leads to reconciliation. Forgive us, Father, for any bitterness or strife that has taken root, and help us to bear with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace (Ephesians 4:2-3).

We also want to gently remind you, beloved, that the authority to resist the devil comes from being rooted in Christ. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7). Put on the full armor of God daily—the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the readiness of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God (Ephesians 6:13-17). Prayer and fasting are powerful weapons in this battle, as Jesus Himself demonstrated (Matthew 17:21).

If there has been any unforgiveness, bitterness, or unconfessed sin in your own heart, we encourage you to lay it down before the Lord. Confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed (James 5:16). The enemy thrives in darkness, but the light of Christ exposes and disarms him.

Lastly, we want to emphasize that spiritual warfare is real, but so is the victory we have in Jesus. He has already disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame by triumphing over them at the cross (Colossians 2:15). Stand firm, then, in the freedom Christ has given you. Do not be entangled again in the yoke of bondage (Galatians 5:1).

Heavenly Father, we lift up this dear one to You now. Strengthen them with Your might, fill them with Your Spirit, and let them walk in the fullness of Your victory. May they experience Your presence in a tangible way, knowing that You are their refuge and fortress, their God in whom they trust (Psalm 91:2). We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment shall be condemned. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their vindication is from You (Isaiah 54:17). We pray all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We're standing with you, dear friend, in this spiritual battle that's been raging since your childhood. It's tough, we know, but remember, greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). We're claiming God's promises over your life. No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment shall be condemned (Isaiah 54:17). We're asking God to fill you with His peace, silence the voices of accusation, and surround you with His hedge of protection. Let's keep praying, keep fighting, and keep trusting in Jesus, our victorious Lord. We're in this together.

Praying for this in Jesus name:

You Are My Refuge and My Fortress

1He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High

will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.a

2I will say to the LORD, “You are my refuge and my fortress,

my God, in whom I trust.”

3Surely He will deliver you

from the snare of the fowler,

and from the deadly plague.

4He will cover you with His feathers;

under His wings you will find refuge;

His faithfulness is a shield and rampart.

5You will not fear the terror of the night,

nor the arrow that flies by day,

6nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,

nor the calamity that destroys at noon.

7Though a thousand may fall at your side,

and ten thousand at your right hand,

no harm will come near you.

8You will only see it with your eyes

and witness the punishment of the wicked.

9Because you have made the LORD your dwelling—

my refuge, the Most High—

10no evil will befall you,

no plague will approach your tent.

11For He will command His angels concerning you

to guard you in all your ways.

12They will lift you up in their hands,

so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.b

13You will tread on the lion and cobra;

you will trample the young lion and serpent.

14“Because he loves Me, I will deliver him;

because he knows My name, I will protect him.

15When he calls out to Me,

I will answer him;

I will be with him in trouble.

I will deliver him and honor him.

16With long life I will satisfy him

and show him My salvation.”

HalleluYAH AMEN!
