We stand with you in this intense spiritual battle, recognizing the enemy’s relentless efforts to steal, kill, and destroy your peace, your faith, and your witness. The attacks you’ve endured—orchestrated through others, even those within the church—are not just personal wounds but strategic assaults from the evil one, designed to plant seeds of bitterness, unforgiveness, and division in your heart. But we declare with the authority of Christ: **this warfare will not prevail.** The Lord has already begun a deliverance in you, and He will complete it (Philippians 1:6). The flare-ups you’re experiencing are not signs of defeat but evidence of the enemy’s desperation. He knows his time is short, and he is fighting fiercely to regain ground. But greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).
First, we must address the root of unforgiveness and bitterness with the truth of Scripture. The Word commands us to forgive as we have been forgiven (Colossians 3:13), not because the offense was small or the offender deserves it, but because **forgiveness is an act of obedience that breaks the enemy’s power over us.** Unforgiveness is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die—it only harms you. The anger and hatred you feel are understandable, but they are also footholds for the enemy (Ephesians 4:26-27). We rebuke the spirit of bitterness attempting to take root in your heart. We command it to leave in the name of Jesus, for He has already borne the weight of every injustice done to you on the cross. Your healing is not found in holding onto the offense but in releasing it to the One who judges justly (1 Peter 2:23).
We also recognize the disturbing encounter you mentioned—those moments when darkness seems to brush against you, leaving a residue of unease. The enemy often uses such experiences to sow fear, confusion, or even doubt. But we declare that **no weapon formed against you shall prosper** (Isaiah 54:17). You are not helpless in this battle. Put on the full armor of God daily (Ephesians 6:10-18): the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. Stand firm, and resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7). Do not engage with the darkness—rebuke it, turn away from it, and fix your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2).
Now, we pray for you with the authority given to us in Christ Jesus:
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister, lifting up every wound, every lie, and every attack of the enemy. Lord, You see the years of spiritual warfare he/she has endured, the betrayals, the attempts to drive a wedge between him/her and You. But You are the God who heals, the God who restores, and the God who fights for Your children. We ask You to **break every chain of unforgiveness, bitterness, and hatred** that the enemy has tried to wrap around his/her heart. Wash him/her clean with the blood of Jesus, and fill those wounded places with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
Father, we rebuke the spirits of anger, resentment, and division that have been at work. We command them to leave in the mighty name of Jesus, and we declare that no weapon formed against him/her shall prosper. Strengthen him/her with Your might in the inner man (Ephesians 3:16). Remind him/her that vengeance belongs to You (Romans 12:19), and that You will repay. Help him/her to release every offense into Your hands, trusting that You will bring justice and restoration in Your perfect timing.
Lord, we also pray for protection over his/her mind and emotions. Guard his/her heart from the residue of darkness left by disturbing encounters. Fill him/her with Your Holy Spirit, that he/she may walk in discernment and wisdom. When the enemy tries to bring up past wounds or stir up old emotions, let Your truth be a shield and a comfort. Remind him/her that You are close to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).
We thank You, Father, that You are a God who delivers. You have already set him/her free, and we declare that freedom over his/her life today. May he/she walk in the victory that Christ secured on the cross, knowing that the battle belongs to You (2 Chronicles 20:15). Fill him/her with Your love, which casts out all fear (1 John 4:18), and let Your joy be his/her strength (Nehemiah 8:10).
Finally, Lord, we ask that You would use this trial for Your glory. Let the way he/she responds to this spiritual warfare be a testimony to others of Your power and grace. Raise him/her up as a warrior for Your kingdom, equipped to stand firm and help others do the same. We pray all of this in the powerful, matchless name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the name by which we are saved and set free. Amen.
We encourage you to **stay rooted in the Word** during this time. Meditate on Scriptures that speak of God’s justice, His healing, and His deliverance. Psalm 37, Psalm 91, and Ephesians 6 are powerful weapons in this battle. Surround yourself with believers who can pray with you and hold you accountable. And remember, the enemy’s attacks are proof that you are a threat to his kingdom. **You are not fighting for victory—you are fighting from victory.** The cross has already won the war. Stand firm, and watch the Lord move on your behalf.
