Spiritual warfare and conflicted feelings

Dhitlor

Humble Servant of All
Please pray for me about church because I love my church but at the same time have conflicted feelings about it due to some concerning things I have noticed. Additionally, apart from this, spiritual warfare which has targeted me all my life influencing people in my life/environment to do terrible things to me to try to push me toward unforgiveness and other things sometimes influences people in my church to do cruel things to me that they wouldn't otherwise do. Some people have been used in this more than others such as my pastor and this has created some problems with me trusting certain people because I never know how they might behave toward me from one moment to the next. Thank you.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

Please pray for me about church because I love my church but at the same time have conflicted feelings about it due to some concerning things I have noticed. Additionally, apart from this, spiritual warfare which has targeted me all my life influencing people in my life/environment to do terrible things to me to try to push me toward unforgiveness and other things sometimes influences people in my church to do cruel things to me that they wouldn't otherwise do. Some people have been used in this more than others such as my pastor and this has created some problems with me trusting certain people because I never know how they might behave toward me from one moment to the next. Thank you.
Also, a few weeks ago, I started to fall into a depression because of some of the experiences I have had with people at church who were influenced by this warfare. Even though I understand their behavior was not their own, having to experience that behavior still affected me mentally somehow.

We hear your heart and stand with you in this spiritual battle, lifting you up before the throne of grace. The conflict you feel is real, and the enemy seeks to use division, confusion, and pain to drive a wedge between you and the body of Christ. But we declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). The attacks you’ve endured—both from outside and within the church—are not from God, for He does not tempt anyone to evil (James 1:13). Yet even in this, He is working all things together for your good, conforming you to the image of His Son (Romans 8:28-29).

The spiritual warfare you’ve faced is intense, and we recognize how deeply it has affected your trust and sense of safety, even among believers. The enemy would love nothing more than to isolate you, to make you question your place in the church, or to harden your heart toward those who may have been used against you. But we rebuke that spirit of division in Jesus’ name. We command every assignment of the enemy to unravel, every lie to be exposed, and every wound to be healed by the balm of Gilead (Jeremiah 8:22). You are not alone in this fight. The Lord is your refuge and fortress, your God in whom you trust (Psalm 91:2). He sees every injustice, every cruel act, and every moment of confusion. He will repay (Romans 12:19).

We must also speak truth into the conflicted feelings you have about your church. The body of Christ is made up of imperfect people, and even pastors and leaders are capable of being influenced by the enemy when they are not vigilant in prayer and the Word. However, this does not mean the church itself is the problem—it means the enemy is attacking the church *through* people, just as he attacks you. Do not let the actions of a few cause you to abandon the bride of Christ. Jesus loves His church, and He gave Himself for her (Ephesians 5:25). Instead of withdrawing, we encourage you to press in—with wisdom, discernment, and a heart that seeks reconciliation where possible.

Forgiveness is not optional, even when the pain runs deep. Jesus made this clear when He taught us to pray, *"Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors"* (Matthew 6:12). Unforgiveness is a prison the enemy wants you to stay in, but Christ has set you free. This does not mean you must trust those who have hurt you blindly or put yourself in harm’s way, but it does mean releasing the bitterness and anger to God. He is the righteous Judge, and He will deal with every wrong. Your part is to walk in love, as Christ loved you (Ephesians 5:2), and to guard your heart (Proverbs 4:23).

We also urge you to examine the concerning things you’ve noticed in your church. Are there biblical compromises, false teachings, or unrepentant sin being tolerated? If so, you must address these things with humility and truth, speaking the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15). But if the issues are more about personal offenses or misunderstandings, ask the Lord to give you His perspective. The enemy loves to magnify faults and sow discord, but love covers a multitude of sins (1 Peter 4:8).

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister, lifting up every burden, every wound, and every fear. Lord, You see the spiritual warfare that has raged against them, and You know the pain of betrayal and confusion they’ve endured. We ask You to break every chain, to silence every lying spirit, and to expose every hidden agenda of the enemy. Strengthen them with Your might, Lord, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

Father, we pray for their church. Where there is division, bring unity. Where there is deception, bring truth. Where there is hardness of heart, soften it with Your love. Give our brother/sister wisdom to know how to navigate these relationships—when to speak, when to listen, and when to extend grace. Help them to see people through Your eyes, not through the lens of past hurts.

Lord, we ask for a fresh outpouring of Your Holy Spirit in their life. Fill them with boldness to stand firm in the faith, even when others falter. Remind them that their battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness (Ephesians 6:12). Clothe them with the full armor of God so they may stand against the schemes of the devil.

And Father, we pray for healing—healing of trust, healing of memories, and healing of their heart. Where they have been sinned against, give them the grace to forgive, just as You have forgiven them (Colossians 3:13). Where they have sinned, bring conviction and repentance. Restore to them the joy of Your salvation (Psalm 51:12).

We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, they shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from You (Isaiah 54:17). We thank You for Your faithfulness, for Your protection, and for Your promise to never leave or forsake them (Hebrews 13:5).

In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

Stand firm, dear one. The battle is fierce, but the victory is already won. Keep your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). He will never fail you. If you ever feel overwhelmed, reach out to trusted believers who can stand with you in prayer and support. You are not alone. The Lord is your shepherd, and He will lead you beside still waters (Psalm 23:2). Trust in Him, and He will make your paths straight (Proverbs 3:5-6).

We're here with you, dear friend, in this tough spot. We feel your pain and confusion, and we want you to know that you're not alone. We're standing with you, praying for you, and reminding you of God's unfailing love.

We understand that it's hard to love your church when you're hurt by things happening there. It's like having a family member who keeps letting you down. But remember, the church is made up of imperfect people, and even pastors can make mistakes. It's not the church itself that's the problem, but the enemy using people to cause harm.

We're not saying you should ignore the issues. If there are biblical compromises or unrepentant sin, they need to be addressed with love and truth. But if it's more about personal offenses or misunderstandings, ask God to give you His perspective. The enemy loves to magnify faults and cause discord, but love covers a multitude of sins (1 Peter 4:8).

We're praying for you right now. We're asking God to heal your wounds, to give you wisdom in navigating your relationships, and to fill you with His peace. We're claiming His promise that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).

Keep trusting in God, even when it's hard. He sees you, He loves you, and He's working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28-29). You're not alone. The Lord is your shepherd, and He will lead you beside still waters (Psalm 23:2).

Let's keep praying together, okay? We're in this with you.
