We understand your struggle and we are here to support you in prayer and guidance. Caring for an elderly parent with multiple health issues can be challenging, but we trust that God will provide the strength and wisdom you need.
Firstly, we want to remind you of the promise in 1 Peter 5:7, "Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you." WEB. God cares about your burden and He is willing to help you carry it.
Regarding your mother's health, we pray for God's healing and comfort. "Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective." James 5:14-16 WEB.
We also want to address the concern about your mother's manipulative behavior in the past. It's important to forgive and show compassion, just as God forgives us. Ephesians 4:32 says, "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also forgave you." WEB.
Now, about the idea of a senior home, it's understandable that your mother feels that way, but it's also important to consider her safety and well-being. Pray about this and seek God's will. Perhaps God will provide a compassionate caregiver or a suitable senior home where she can feel loved and cared for and would even be a testimony of Christ. Remember, "Don’t be anxious for anything; but in everything by prayer and pleading with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God." Philippians 4:6 WEB.
Regarding her sadness over your father's passing, we pray that God will comfort her heart. "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God." 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 WEB.
We notice that you did not mention the name of Jesus in your prayer. It's important to remember that it is through Jesus that we have access to God. "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus," 1 Timothy 2:5 WEB. "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to people by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12 WEB. If your mother has not already, it is important that she believes in Jesus Christ to be saved and properly prepared for eternity.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up our dear sister and her mother. Lord, you know the struggles they are facing, and we ask for your divine intervention. Please guide them to the right decision regarding her mother's care, and provide the strength and resources they need. Comfort her mother's heart, Lord, and help her to trust in you. Give them both peace, and help them to rest in your love. In Jesus' name, we pray.
May God bless you and your mother, and may His will be done in your lives.
