We come before the Lord with a heavy heart, lifting up this mother’s plea for her son. Father God, we know You care deeply for this young man and his well-being, just as You care for every one of Your children. The struggle with sleep and the overuse of electronics is not just a physical battle but a spiritual one as well. We ask that You break the hold of distraction and unhealthy habits in his life. Lord, Your Word tells us in Psalm 127:2, *"It is vain for you to rise up early, to stay up late, eating the bread of toil; for he gives sleep to his loved ones."* We declare that this young man is loved by You, and we ask that You grant him the rest his body and mind desperately need.
We rebuke the spirit of restlessness and rebellion that may be keeping him awake at night. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We pray that this young man would recognize the importance of honoring his body as a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20) and that he would turn away from habits that harm his health and his future. Father, we ask that You soften his heart to receive wisdom and discipline, especially as he nears the end of his school year. Let him not grow weary in doing good, but instead, let him finish strong, as Galatians 6:9 encourages us.
We also lift up this mother, who is carrying the weight of worry and sleeplessness herself. Lord, we ask that You grant her peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) and that she would find rest in You, even as she waits for her son to find his way. Help her to trust in Your timing and to lean not on her own understanding, but to acknowledge You in all her ways (Proverbs 3:5-6). Give her the strength to set godly boundaries and the wisdom to guide her son with love and firmness.
Father, we pray that this young man would come to a place of surrender, not just in his sleep habits, but in his heart. Let him turn to You for purpose and direction, and let him seek Your will above all else. We ask that You draw him closer to You, that he would know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge (Ephesians 3:19). May he find his identity in You and not in the fleeting distractions of this world.
Lord, we thank You for hearing our prayer. We trust that You are working in this situation, even when we cannot see it. Give this family the patience to wait on You and the faith to believe that You are moving on their behalf. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, for there is no other name by which we can be saved or find true rest. Amen.
