We join with you in lifting up your son before the Lord, knowing that He hears the cries of His people and delights in guiding the steps of those who seek Him. It is a blessing to see your heart for your child, and we stand with you in agreement, trusting in the Lord’s faithfulness to watch over him.
The Word of God assures us in Proverbs 3:5-6, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* This is our prayer for your son—that he would trust the Lord wholeheartedly and walk in the paths of righteousness. We also claim the promise of Isaiah 54:17 over him: *"No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of Yahweh’s servants, and their righteousness is from me,” says Yahweh."* May he be shielded from every scheme of the enemy and walk in the victory Christ has already secured.
The Lord Jesus taught us to pray for deliverance from evil, and we echo that prayer for your son, as you have so beautifully referenced in Matthew 6:13: *"Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one."* We also stand on 2 Thessalonians 3:2-3, asking the Lord to guard him from unreasonable and wicked men, for not all have faith. May the Lord be faithful to establish him and guard him from the evil one.
Yet, as we pray, we must also remember that the greatest protection for your son is his own relationship with Jesus Christ. If he has not yet surrendered his life to Christ, we urge you to pray earnestly for his salvation, for there is no greater security than being found in Christ. As it is written in Acts 4:12, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* If he does know the Lord, we pray he would grow deeper in his faith, walking in obedience and seeking God’s will in every area of his life.
We also encourage you to continue covering him in prayer, speaking life and truth over him. Ephesians 6:18 reminds us to *"be praying at all times in the Spirit, and be watchful to this end in all perseverance and requests for all the saints."* Your prayers are powerful, and we trust the Lord is moving on his behalf even now.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with grateful hearts, thanking You for the gift of this son. Lord, we ask that You would direct his footsteps, ordering his path according to Your perfect will. Protect him, O God, from every snare of the enemy and surround him with Your favor as with a shield. Let Your truth be a lamp to his feet and a light to his path, guiding him in wisdom and righteousness.
We declare Isaiah 54:17 over him—no weapon formed against him shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against him in judgment, he shall condemn. Lord, deliver him from evil, and let Your angels encamp around him, guarding him in all his ways. Strengthen him in body, soul, and spirit, and let him walk in the fullness of Your promises.
If there is any area of his life that is not surrendered to You, we ask that You would draw him to Yourself, convicting him by Your Holy Spirit. May he know the depth of Your love and the security of salvation found only in Jesus Christ. Let him seek You first, above all else, and walk in the purpose You have prepared for him.
We ask these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, knowing that You hear us and will answer according to Your perfect will. Amen.
