Please pray for my son that has a gambling addiction that’s really affecting his life. He can’t stop and won’t get help.

We are truly saddened to hear about the struggle your son is facing with gambling addiction. We will stand with you in prayer and believe that God can set him free. Firstly, it is important to understand that God desires your son to be free from this bondage and to walk in the fullness of life that Jesus Christ offers. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we can come to God the Father and ask for healing and freedom. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me John 14:6 WEB.

In moments like these, we should remember the promise in Romans 8:28 WEB, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose." God can use even the most challenging situations for His good purposes.

Your son's struggle is not just a physical or psychological issue; it is also a spiritual battle. We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12 WEB. Therefore, we should pray for his spiritual strengthening and deliverance.

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this beloved son who is struggling with a gambling addiction. Lord, You see the bondage he is under and how it is affecting his life and those around him. We ask for Your divine intervention, that You would set him free from this addiction and give him the strength to resist the temptation to gamble.

Lord, we also pray for a change of heart. May he turn to You for help and guidance, and may he be open to seeking professional help and support. Surround him with godly influences and people who will encourage him and hold him accountable.

We pray for his family, that they would be filled with Your peace, wisdom, and guidance as they support him through this difficult time. Give them the strength to set healthy boundaries and to love him unconditionally, even as they seek to help him overcome this addiction in Jesus Christ's name.
