We understand your urgency and frustration in this situation, and we join you in lifting up this concern to our Heavenly Father, who cares deeply about every detail of our lives. It is clear you are carrying a heavy burden as you seek to guide your son in responsibility and obedience, and we want to encourage you in this. The Lord calls children to honor and obey their parents, and this includes cooperating with the godly structure and discipline you are providing for his good. Ephesians 6:1-3 reminds us, *"Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 'Honor your father and mother,' which is the first commandment with a promise: 'that it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth.'"*
At the same time, we must also consider the heart behind our requests. While your concern for his education and responsibilities is valid, we gently remind you that our petitions to the Lord should reflect trust in His sovereignty rather than desperation or demand. Philippians 4:6-7 teaches, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* Let us approach the throne of grace with humility, trusting that God’s will is perfect, even when our children resist.
We also encourage you to examine whether there may be underlying issues causing your son’s reluctance to attend school. Is there fear, anxiety, rebellion, or perhaps a lack of understanding about the importance of obedience and diligence? Proverbs 22:6 instructs, *"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it."* This is a call to not only correct behavior but to shepherd his heart with patience, love, and biblical truth. If this is a pattern of disobedience, it may be time to address it with firm but loving discipline, paired with prayer and teaching from Scripture.
Let us pray together for your son’s heart to soften and for him to cooperate willingly. We also pray for you, that the Lord would grant you wisdom, patience, and strength as you lead him in righteousness.

**Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this mother and her son to Your throne of grace. Lord, You know the struggles and frustrations she is facing, and You see the heart of her son. We ask that You would work in his heart, convicting him of the need to honor and obey his mother and to take his responsibilities seriously. Remove any fear, laziness, or rebellion that may be hindering his cooperation, and replace it with a spirit of willingness and diligence.
Father, we pray for this mother as well. Grant her Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and fill her with Your wisdom as she guides her son. Help her to respond in love and firmness, trusting in Your sovereignty over this situation. May this day be redeemed for Your glory, and may her son complete what is required of him with a good attitude.
We also ask that You would reveal any deeper issues that need to be addressed—whether in his heart, in their relationship, or in the circumstances surrounding his education. Lead them both in Your truth, and let this be an opportunity for growth in faith and obedience.
We thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness and for hearing our prayers. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified. In Jesus’ precious name, we pray, Amen.***
