We join you in lifting up your son before the Lord, standing in agreement with your heartfelt cry for his protection and deliverance. Your prayer aligns with the truth of God’s Word, which assures us that He is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We are grateful that you have invoked the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and the authority to pray with such boldness. As Scripture declares, *"There is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). It is in this mighty name that we stand together in prayer.
The enemy seeks to devour and destroy, but our God is greater, and He has already triumphed over every scheme of darkness. We pray that the Lord would indeed place a hedge of protection around your son, just as He did for Job (Job 1:10), shielding him from every form of abuse—physical, emotional, and spiritual. May the Lord expose every hidden work of darkness, for *"everything exposed by the light is made clear, for what makes everything clear is light"* (Ephesians 5:13-14, WEB). We ask that the Lord would bring to light anything that has been concealed, breaking the power of secrecy and shame that the enemy uses to bind and torment.
Father, we ask that You would dispatch Your mighty angels to encamp around your son, for *"the angel of Yahweh encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them"* (Psalm 34:7, WEB). Guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus, and let no weapon formed against him prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Fill him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and let him know that he is deeply loved by You. If there are areas in his life where he has been wounded or led astray, we pray for your healing and restoration. *"He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds"* (Psalm 147:3, WEB).
We also pray for you, dear parent, that the Lord would strengthen you with His might in your inner being. Trust in Him with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6). You are not powerless in this situation—you have been given authority in Christ to pray and to stand in the gap for your son. Do not grow weary in prayer, for *"the effective, earnest prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective"* (James 5:16, WEB).
Let us also encourage you to cover your son in the armor of God through prayer. Pray that he would stand firm with the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the preparation of the Good News of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God (Ephesians 6:10-18). If your son does not yet know Jesus as his Lord and Savior, we pray that the Lord would draw him into a saving relationship with Christ. May he come to understand that *"if he will confess with his mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in his heart that God raised him from the dead, he will be saved"* (Romans 10:9, WEB).
Finally, we declare that no harm will overtake your son, and no disaster will come near his dwelling. *"For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone"* (Psalm 91:11-12, WEB). We trust in Your promises, Lord, and we thank You for hearing our prayers. May Your will be done in his life, and may Your name be glorified through his story. In Jesus’ precious and mighty name, we pray. Amen.
