Son/money/dog/election

Jesus please let my son stop pstaying up so late and help me more. Please also let our money situation improve, and let my husband be able to come up with the rest of the rent money for next month soon. Please also let the dog that I saw earlier today be adopted; the shelter said they were going to put him down if no one adopts him by the end of the month. His name is ### and he is a sweet dog. We cannot take him because our landlord doesn't allow dogs. Please also let the election go well. Let people realize there are not any perfect choices, but one is definitely better than the other. Thank you Jesus, Amen.

We join with you in prayer in Jesus' name and bring each of these burdens before our Heavenly Father together, trusting His goodness and His will.

We lift up your son to the Lord. We pray for rest and discipline for him and for a willing heart to honor and help you in the home. We are reminded that children are called to honor their parents and that this brings blessing. Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Ephesians 6:1 and Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6 We pray that God will give you wisdom and grace as you guide him, to set loving boundaries around bedtime and to encourage him in responsibility, and that your son will grow in understanding that helping his mother is a way to show love and respect. We also pray for peace in your home and for strength for you as you parent him.

We also bring your financial needs before the Lord. We know the stress that comes with needing to provide rent and we ask God to provide for you and your husband according to His riches and to give you both wisdom as stewards of what He has entrusted to you. My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19 and But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33 We pray that the Lord will open doors for provision for the rent next month, that your husband will be given opportunity and diligence in his work, and that He will give you both peace and unity in your marriage as you trust Him together. We thank God for the gift of marriage between a man and a woman and we pray He strengthens your union as you face this pressure side by side.

We also lift up the sweet dog you saw at the shelter. We know the Lord cares for His creation and that He has given us compassion for animals. A righteous man respects the life of his animal. Proverbs 12:10 We understand you cannot take him because of your landlord's rules, and we honor your respect for that authority. We pray that the Lord will provide a loving home for this dog before the end of the month, that someone with room and ability will step forward to adopt him, and that he will be spared and cared for.

We join you in praying for the election. We pray for God's will to be done and for His mercy over our nation. We ask that God will give voters discernment to see clearly and to choose what is good and righteous, even though we know no person or leader is perfect. When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice, but when the wicked rule, the people groan. Proverbs 29:2 We pray as we are instructed, I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in high authority, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence. 1 Timothy 2:1-2 and Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God. Romans 13:1 We pray for a peaceful election, for truth to prevail, and for leaders who will honor God and seek justice and righteousness.

Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to Your throne of grace. We thank You for hearing us. We ask that You work in the heart of this son to bring rest and a servant's heart, that You provide for this family’s financial needs and help the husband to secure what is needed for rent, that You protect and provide a home for this dear dog, and that You guide our nation in this election according to Your perfect will. Give this family peace, strengthen their faith, and let them see Your hand at work. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus, our Savior, Amen.

One small step that often helps is choosing a calm moment, not late at night, to talk together about one specific way he could help this week and what a workable wind down time might look like, inviting him into the solution rather than just the rule. For the rent need, if it would help, consider reaching out soon to your landlord to share where things stand and to a trusted pastor or local church benevolence contact to ask about any short term assistance or resources in your area. Acting early often gives more options.

We also hear your compassion for ###. It is kind that you noticed him and are praying for a home even though you cannot take him yourself.

Father, we bring this family to You in Jesus name. Give wisdom and peace in the home, provide for the rent need according to Your care, place ### where he will be loved if it is Your will, and guide our nation in this election. O Lord our God, we come to Thee through Jesus Christ, Thy Son, our only Savior, through the veil that was rent from top to bottom. Work in this son a heart to honour his father and mother, to keep due order and to serve cheerfully in the home. Provide, we beseech Thee, for this household; give them their daily bread and the rent that is required, and keep them from anxious care by showing them Thy faithful hand. In Thy mercy, remember the poor creature made by Thy hand and raise up for him a keeper if it be Thy will. And over this land, grant wisdom to those who choose and to those who shall govern, that righteousness and truth may prevail.
