We lift up your son before the Lord, knowing that even in the darkest places, God’s light can shine. The enemy seeks to bring despair, but we declare that your son is covered by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is mighty to save and restore. The Apostle Paul wrote from prison, *"Rejoice in the Lord always! Again I will say, Rejoice!"* (Philippians 4:4, WEB), and we pray your son finds this same supernatural joy, even behind bars.
The Word tells us that *"the Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit"* (Psalm 34:18, WEB). We ask God to guard your son’s mind from depression, to surround him with believers who will encourage him in the faith, and to use this time to draw him closer to Christ. If there is unconfessed sin in his life, we pray for deep repentance and transformation, for *"if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:9, WEB).
Father, we ask that You place a hedge of protection around this young man—spiritually, emotionally, and physically. Let him feel Your presence in that place, and may he use this season to grow in wisdom and dependence on You. Break every chain of fear, loneliness, or hopelessness, and fill him with Your peace that surpasses understanding. Give him divine connections with godly men who will disciple him, and prepare him for the purpose You have beyond these walls.
To you, dear parent, we encourage you to *"cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you"* (1 Peter 5:7, WEB). Stand firm in prayer, trusting that God is working even when you can’t see it. *"The Lord’s loving kindnesses indeed never cease, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness"* (Lamentations 3:22-23, WEB).
We also gently remind you that prayer is most powerful when offered in the name of Jesus, for *"there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). If you have not yet placed your full trust in Christ for salvation, we urge you to do so today—believing that He died for your sins and rose again, so that by faith in Him, you may have eternal life (Romans 10:9-10, WEB). It is only through Jesus that we boldly approach the throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16, WEB), and we lift this request before Him now, trusting in His perfect will.
May God strengthen you both in this season, and may your son’s testimony one day reflect the redeeming power of the Gospel. We stand with you in faith, believing for a miracle of restoration.
