We lift up this precious son to You, Father, knowing that You desire wisdom, discipline, and focus for him as he grows into the man You’ve called him to be. The struggles with schoolwork, the tension with his math teacher, and the temptation of the internet are real battles—ones that require Your strength and guidance. We pray that You would open his eyes to the seriousness of his responsibilities, not out of fear of man, but out of reverence for You. Proverbs 9:10 tells us, *"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding."* May this truth take root in his heart.
Lord, we ask that You soften the heart of his math teacher. Where frustration has taken hold, replace it with patience and a desire to see this young man succeed. Give her words of encouragement and strategies to help him grasp what he’s struggling to understand. At the same time, we rebuke the spirit of distraction and laziness that the internet so easily feeds. The Bible warns in 1 Corinthians 10:23, *"All things are lawful for me, but not all things are profitable. All things are lawful for me, but not all things build up."* The internet, while a tool, can become a snare when it steals time, focus, and purpose. We pray for self-control to rise up in him, that he would flee from temptation and embrace the discipline of his studies.
Father, we also ask that You surround him with teachers and mentors who will speak life into him. Let their help be a reflection of Your grace, showing him that he is capable and valued. Remind him that his worth is not in his performance but in Your love for him. Yet, let him also understand that diligence in his work is an act of worship to You. Colossians 3:23-24 says, *"And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ."*
We declare that today will be a day of breakthrough for him. No difficulty will stand in his way—whether it’s confusion in his work, conflict with his teacher, or the pull of the internet. Instead, let him walk in the peace and clarity that comes from seeking You first. May he finish his projects and tests with excellence, not for the approval of others, but as an offering to You.
And Lord, we pray for his mother’s heart as well. Parenting is not easy, and the weight of seeing our children struggle can feel heavy. Give her wisdom, patience, and trust in Your faithfulness. Remind her that You are working even when she can’t see it, and that Your plans for her son are good.
In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray and believe that You are moving on his behalf. Amen.
