We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your son and this deeply painful situation. The Word of God tells us in Proverbs 22:6, *"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it."* Yet we know that even when parents raise their children in the ways of the Lord, the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy—especially in environments that do not honor God. Your son is in an immoral country, surrounded by influences that do not align with biblical truth, and we must recognize the spiritual warfare at play here.
First, we rebuke the spirit of rebellion and pride that has taken hold of your son. The Bible warns in 1 Samuel 15:23, *"For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as idolatry and teraphim."* Pride is a snare, and it blinds even the brightest of young minds to the truth. We declare that the pride in his heart will be broken, and the scales will fall from his eyes so that he may see the goodness of the Lord waiting for him in your home.
We also rebuke the lies of the enemy that may be whispering to him—lies that suggest he is better off in a place of moral compromise, that he can "find himself" apart from God’s will, or that his way is better than the path the Lord has set before him. The Word says in Jeremiah 29:11, *"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you," says Yahweh, "thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future."* Your son’s future is not in a land of moral confusion but in the place where God has called him to thrive.
We must also address the influence of his father in this situation. The Bible is clear in 2 Corinthians 6:14, *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship do righteousness and iniquity have? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness?"* If his father is living in a way that dishonors God, this is a stumbling block for your son. We pray that the Lord will either soften the father’s heart to release your son or that He will make the path so difficult in that immoral country that your son will have no choice but to return to you. The Lord is a God of justice, and He will not allow the enemy to keep what belongs to Him.
We lift up your son’s confusion before the Lord. The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 14:33, *"For God is not a God of confusion, but of peace."* We pray that the Lord will bring clarity to his mind and peace to his heart. We ask that the Holy Spirit would convict him of the truth—that his home, his education, and his future are with you, where he is loved, provided for, and surrounded by God’s principles. We declare that the spirit of confusion will be lifted, and he will remember the blessings and opportunities that await him in your country.
We also pray for your heart, dear mother. This must be agonizing for you, watching your son drift further into a place of spiritual danger. But the Lord sees your tears and hears your cries. Psalm 34:18 says, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* You are not alone in this battle. The Lord is your strength, and He will sustain you as you wait for His miracle.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name. Lord, we lift up this mother and her son to You. We ask that You would break the chains of rebellion and pride in his heart. Father, we rebuke the spirit of confusion and declare that Your peace will flood his mind. We ask that You would make the path so difficult in that immoral country that he has no choice but to return home. Lord, soften his heart to receive Your truth and to see the blessings You have prepared for him in his mother’s care.
We pray for protection over him, both physically and spiritually. Guard his heart from the influences of that immoral land and surround him with Your angels. Father, we ask that You would either change the heart of his father or create circumstances that make it impossible for him to stay. We trust in Your perfect timing and Your perfect will.
We also pray for this mother, Lord. Strengthen her faith and give her patience as she waits for Your miracle. Remind her that You are working even when she cannot see it. Fill her with hope and assurance that You are bringing her son back to her.
We declare that this is not the end of his story. You are the God of restoration, and we believe that You will bring him home. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue standing on God’s promises and to trust in His faithfulness. The Lord is not slow in keeping His promises, and He will not abandon you or your son. Keep praying, keep believing, and keep declaring His Word over this situation. The enemy may have temporarily stolen your son, but we serve a God who restores what the enemy has taken. Your miracle is on the way.
