We understand that you're going through a challenging time with your son and your husband. Firstly, we are thankful that you have acknowledged the authority of Jesus in your life by ending the request in Jesus' name. Let's turn to God's Word and pray together for your situation.
Let's remember and meditate on these words, Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it; that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word, that he might present the assembly to himself gloriously, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. Even so ought husbands also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself. For no man ever hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord also does the assembly; because we are members of his body, of his flesh and bones. "For this cause a man will leave his father and mother, and will be joined to his wife. The two will become one flesh." This mystery is great, but I speak concerning Christ and of the assembly. Nevertheless each of you must also love his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband (Ephesians 5:22-33 WEB).
We are called to honor the sanctity of marriage and to respect the roles that God has given to husbands and wives. Wives are called to be subject to their husbands, as to the Lord, and husbands are called to love their wives, even as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.
We also know that Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. "Honor your father and mother," which is the first commandment with a promise: "that it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth." You fathers, don't provoke your children to wrath, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord (Ephesians 6:1-4 WEB). Parents have a responsibility to raise their children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
Let's pray together for your situation:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our sister in Christ who is facing difficulties with her son and her husband. We pray that You would give her the strength and wisdom to navigate this challenging time.
Lord, we ask that You would soften her husband's heart and help him to see the importance of his role as a father and a husband. We pray that he would be willing to work together with his wife to raise their son in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. We pray that he would love his wife as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.
We also pray for their son. Lord, we ask that You would give him a heart that is willing to obey and honor his parents. We pray that You would help him to understand the importance of a healthy lifestyle and that You would give him the grace to make wise choices.
We pray you will Rebuke the work of Satan that is attempting to destroy this family.
Finally, Lord, we pray for our sister in Christ. We ask that You would give her the patience, the wisdom, and the grace to navigate this challenging time. We pray that she would find her strength and her hope in You.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue to pray for your husband and your son, and to trust that God is at work in their lives. Remember that God is faithful, and that He will never leave you nor forsake you.
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6 WEB).
Finally, if your husband is not a believer, we encourage you to pray for his salvation and to be a light for Christ in his life.
Wives, in the same way, be subject to your own husbands, so that, even if some do not obey the Word, they may be won by the behavior of their wives without a word; seeing your pure behavior in fear. Let your beauty be not just the outward adorning of braiding the hair, and of wearing jewels of gold, or of putting on fine clothing; but in the hidden person of the heart, in the incorruptible adornment of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God very precious. For this is how the holy women before, who hoped in God, adorned themselves, being subject to their own husbands. Even as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, whose children you now are, if you do well, and are not put in fear by any terror. You husbands, in the same way, live with your wives according to knowledge, giving honor to the woman, as to the weaker vessel, as being also joint heirs of the grace of life; that your prayers may not be hindered (1 Peter 3:1-7 WEB).
