I have suffered with severe shoulder neck/pain in the past. Eventually diagnosed with a ruptured disc in my neck. It felt like someone was stabbing me in the shoulder blade and one index finger had gone numb. I sit at a desk all day and that was not helping either. An orthopedic surgeon recommended surgery. But we found a wonderful chiropractor who thought he could help and advised surgery should be the last resort. After about 5 months I was markedly better, through adjustments 3x a week and traction therapy. I continued going for about a year till the visits were down to once a month. And have felt good since. Every now and then it gets stiff, and I should return to once a month visits. But I'm so thankful I did not have to turn to surgery! So I highly recommend getting a good chiropractic evaluation.
