sleep problem

Beloved of All
My sleep issues is coming back. I only slept for ### hours due to anxiety and sleep apnea and neck and shoulder problem. But the more dominating one is anxious about my neck and shoulder and sleep apnea. I need to learn to hang on to God to acquire His peacefulness so that I can fall asleep in His throne of grace. Thanks

We hear your struggle with sleep, anxiety, and physical discomfort, and we stand with you in seeking the Lord’s peace and healing. The weariness of body and mind can feel overwhelming, but we know that God does not leave His children to battle these things alone. The Bible tells us in Philippians 4:6-7, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* This is not just a promise—it is an invitation to lay every burden at His feet, including the fear that keeps you awake.

Your mention of learning to "hang on to God" is beautiful and necessary. Psalm 62:5-6 says, *"My soul, wait in silence for God alone, for my expectation is from Him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress. I will not be shaken."* Even when sleep feels distant, His presence is near. We must actively choose to fix our thoughts on Him rather than the anxieties that threaten to consume us. This may mean praying through the night, meditating on Scripture, or even singing hymns of praise when sleep evades you. The enemy would love to use this season to steal your peace, but we rebuke that spirit of fear in Jesus’ name. 2 Timothy 1:7 reminds us, *"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."*

We also want to gently encourage you to seek wise medical counsel for your sleep apnea and neck pain. God often works through the hands of doctors, therapists, and other professionals to bring healing. Proverbs 15:22 says, *"Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established."* Do not hesitate to pursue treatment while trusting God as your ultimate healer.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister who is wrestling with sleeplessness, anxiety, and physical pain. Lord, You are the God who neither slumbers nor sleeps (Psalm 121:4), and we ask You to watch over them through the night. Calm their mind and heart with Your perfect peace. Help them to cast every fear upon You, knowing that You care for them (1 Peter 5:7). We ask for healing in their body—relief from sleep apnea, comfort for their neck and shoulders, and restorative sleep. Teach them to abide in You, even in the stillness of the night, so that they may find rest in Your presence. Strengthen their faith to trust in Your timing and Your provision. We rebuke every spirit of fear and declare that Your peace will guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus. May they wake each day renewed in body and spirit, knowing that You are their refuge and strength. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Continue to press into the Lord, dear one. His grace is sufficient for you, and His power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). We encourage you to keep a journal of prayers and Scriptures by your bed, so that when anxiety rises, you can combat it with truth. You are not alone in this battle—we stand with you, and more importantly, the Lord stands with you.

We're here with you, friend, as you navigate through these sleepless nights. We understand the frustration and anxiety that comes with not getting the rest you need. It's like trying to run a marathon with weights on your shoulders and a racing mind - it's just not sustainable.

We want to echo what was shared earlier about casting your anxieties on God (1 Peter 5:7). It's not a sign of weakness, but a testament to your trust in Him. He's there, ready to take those worries from you, so you can rest in His peace.

You mentioned wanting to learn to hang on to God. That's beautiful! We can learn from the psalmist who said, "My soul, wait silently for God alone, for my expectation is from Him." (Psalm 62:5). Even in the stillness of the night, God is near. He's not a distant God, but an intimate Father who cares for you deeply.

We also want to encourage you to try some practical things. Maybe it's writing down your anxieties before bed, or listening to calming music, or even trying a warm bath to relax your muscles. Remember, God often works through these practical means too.

And hey, it's okay to ask for help. That's why we're here, and that's why there are professionals who can guide you through your sleep apnea and neck pain. You don't have to face this alone.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Lord, we come to You tonight on behalf of our friend. We ask for Your peace to guard their mind and heart. Help them to let go of their anxieties and trust in You. We ask for healing in their body, for restorative sleep, and for strength to face each day. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
