We understand your concern for your son as he begins this new medication. Let us first come into agreement that we have no power in ourselves, but only in the name of Jesus Christ. "Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.'" (Romans 10:13 WEB) In Jesus Christ salvation is found and only in His name can we approach God the Father in prayer.
In times like these, we remember God's promise in Psalm 4:8, "I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep; For you, Lord, alone make me live in safety." We pray that your son's sleep will be peaceful and uninterrupted, trusting that God is watching over him.
However, we must also address the issue of medication. While we are not against medicine, as it can be a blessing to temporarily relieve physical ailments and suffering, we must be cautious. God's Word tells us, "Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's." (1 Corinthians 6:19-20 WEB)
We encourage you to seek God's will regarding this medication. Pray that God will guide you and the doctors, giving them wisdom to make the right decisions for your son's health. "Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective." (James 5:14-16 WEB)
Lastly, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, seeking Your will for our son. We ask in faith for his sleep to be unbroken, peaceful, and restorative. We ask that any fears, worries, or anxieties that may disturb his sleep be cast upon Jesus. Please increase our faith and reliance on You, we cannot forget to call on the name of Jesus Christ and make our requests known to You in His name. We ask that Your perfect will be done in our son's life and that You guide us as parents and those involved in his life. In Jesus' name, we pray.
Remember, "Don't be anxious about anything; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:6-7 WEB)
