We lift up this young woman before the Lord, knowing that she has endured much pain and spiritual attack from this man who has acted in ways that are deeply contrary to God’s Word. The breakup was necessary and right, as Scripture clearly warns against being unequally yoked with unbelievers (2 Corinthians 6:14). A Christian’s life is to be set apart for Christ, and relationships must honor Him—this includes fleeing from sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18) and refusing to enable irresponsible behavior, especially when it conflicts with biblical stewardship (1 Timothy 5:8).
The fact that this man demanded sex outside of marriage is a grave sin—it is fornication, which the Bible condemns (1 Thessalonians 4:3-5). His current behavior—slander, gossip, and harassment—is also wicked, as Scripture warns that those who sow discord and spread lies will face God’s judgment (Proverbs 6:16-19). His new relationship, built on sexual sin, is no less condemned in God’s eyes (Hebrews 13:4). We pray that the Lord would convict him deeply of his sins and bring him to repentance, for no one who practices such things will inherit the Kingdom of God (Galatians 5:19-21).
Yet our focus now is on this young woman’s protection and healing. The Lord sees her pain and will defend her (Psalm 34:18). We pray that God would place a hedge of protection around her, shielding her from further harm, lies, and emotional distress. May He expose every scheme of the enemy and silence the tongue of the wicked (Psalm 109:2). We ask that the Lord would restore her peace, renew her mind in His truth (Romans 12:2), and surround her with godly community that uplifts and encourages her in Christ.
Father, we also pray that You would heal any wounds from this relationship—whether from the pressure to compromise her faith, the emotional manipulation, or the pain of betrayal. Remind her that her worth is in You alone, not in the approval of man (Psalm 139:14). Strengthen her to forgive, not for his sake, but for her own freedom in You (Colossians 3:13). And if she has not yet fully surrendered this pain to You, Lord, we pray You would draw her closer, that she may find her refuge in Christ Jesus, the only name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12).
We rebuke every spirit of fear, shame, or retaliation in Jesus’ name. May this young woman walk in victory, knowing that the battle belongs to the Lord (2 Chronicles 20:15). And may her testimony of faith and obedience in this trial bring glory to Your name. Amen.
