We have received your prayer request and we hear the deep longing in your heart for love and for companionship. It is good that you bring your desires to God in prayer, for He cares for you and knows your heart fully.
At the same time, Scripture teaches us that true love cannot be forced or compelled, and that we are not to ask God to bend another person's will or to make someone feel affection on our behalf. Love that is according to Christ is marked by lowliness and meekness, with long suffering and patience, and it abounds in knowledge and discernment. It respects the freedom of the other person and willingly yields to what seems good to God, even when our longing is strong. The apostle Paul himself shows this, praying continually yet trusting God's timing and God's will above his own desire, and being thankful whether he received what he asked or waited.
So we will not pray that God would make ### have soft thoughts toward you or cause him to fall in love or come to you, for that would be asking God to direct another person's heart apart from his own will. Instead we want to pray with you for what is best and most loving according to God's wisdom.
We pray that you will know more deeply the tender mercies of Jesus Christ and the fullness of His love for you, which alone can satisfy the heart. We pray that God will give you peace as you wait on Him, and that your love may grow in knowledge and discernment to approve what is excellent and pure before Him. We pray that He will guard your heart, help you to walk worthily in humility and self restraint, and to trust His good providence for your future. We pray also for ###, that God will bless him, draw him to salvation through Jesus Christ alone if he does not yet know Him, and guide him in the right way.
If God wills a relationship between you, we pray it would be formed in His proper order, with honor and purity, looking toward marriage as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman where love and life together belong. Above all we pray that both of you would seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and that whatever the outcome, you would find joy and completeness in Christ.
May the Lord grant you wisdom, patience, and contentment in His love, and may His will be done in your life. We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, with whom be glory to the Father together with the Holy Spirit, now and ever. Amen.
