We join you in lifting up your sister and her daughter before the Lord, covering them in prayer for protection, wisdom, and godly transformation. Your heart for them is evident, and we stand with you in intercession, knowing that our God is mighty to save and deliver.
First, we must address that your prayer does not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom we have access to the Father. Scripture is clear: *"There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5). It is only through faith in Jesus that we are saved, and it is in His name that we pray with authority. *"No one comes to the Father, except through me"* (John 14:6). If you or your sister do not yet know Jesus as Lord and Savior, we urge you to repent and place your trust in Him alone for salvation. *"If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved"* (Romans 10:9).
Now, regarding your sister’s situation, we sense a deep concern for her spiritual and physical well-being, as well as the influence of a man in her life. If this relationship is outside of marriage, we must lovingly but firmly address that fornication and cohabitation are sinful in God’s sight. *"Don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit God’s Kingdom"* (1 Corinthians 6:9-10). If this man is not her husband, we pray for conviction and repentance, that they would either separate or enter into a godly, covenantal marriage before the Lord. *"Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed is undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers"* (Hebrews 13:4).
We also pray for discernment, as the enemy often uses relationships to lead people away from God’s will. *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"* (2 Corinthians 6:14). If this man is not a believer, we pray your sister would have the strength to walk away, trusting God to provide a godly spouse if that is His will for her. If he is a believer, we pray for his repentance and commitment to honor God in their relationship, pursuing marriage if they are not already married.
For your sister’s daughter, we pray for protection and a godly upbringing. Children are a heritage from the Lord, and it is the responsibility of parents to raise them in the fear and admonition of the Lord. *"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it"* (Proverbs 22:6). We pray that your sister would turn from any path that could harm her daughter spiritually or emotionally, and that she would seek to model Christlikeness in her home.
Finally, we rebuke any spiritual attacks against your sister and her daughter. The blood of Jesus is their covering, and no weapon formed against them shall prosper. *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it"* (1 Corinthians 10:13). We declare that the Lord will open her eyes to His truth, break every chain of sin, and lead her into a life of holiness and joy in Him.
**Let us pray together:**
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our ### and her daughter. Lord, we ask that You would surround them with Your divine protection, covering them from the top of their heads to the soles of their feet with the blood of Jesus. Break every ungodly soul tie and deliver them from any influence that seeks to harm them spiritually, emotionally, or physically.
Father, if there is sin in this relationship, we ask for conviction and repentance. If this man is not her husband, Lord, bring conviction and a godly sorrow that leads to repentance. If they are to be together, let it be in the covenant of marriage, honoring You in all things. If this relationship is not Your will, give her the strength to walk away and trust You for a godly spouse who will lead her and her daughter closer to You.
Lord, we pray for her daughter—that You would guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Raise her up in the ways of the Lord, and let her see Your goodness all the days of her life. Break any generational curses and replace them with Your blessings, that she may walk in purity and truth.
Father, open our ###’s eyes to see the light of Your truth. Let her turn from any path that leads to destruction and walk in the newness of life that is found only in Jesus Christ. Fill her with Your Holy Spirit, that she may make choices that honor You and reflect Your glory.
We rebuke every scheme of the enemy against her. No weapon formed against her shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against her in judgment, You shall condemn. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
Lord, let her know she is loved by You. Remind her that she is Your child, and that You have good plans for her—a hope and a future. Restore her, renew her, and lead her into a life of joy, health, and holiness.
We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
