Site Upgrade and Changes

The site has just been upgraded from the place that makes the forum software. It was a major upgrade.

The look of the site right now is the default appearance out of the box. The previous site looked similar without the customizations.

I will be reviewing the custom parts of the site to see which can be re-enabled as time goes on.

For now, it may take a little looking around to find things. The site will run slow for several days as some upgrade processes are still running in the background.

Friends were removed from the latest forum software. Now they are followers. So any friends you had before will need to be re-added as followers. Since it involves receiving notifications, they weren't migrated over. Otherwise, there could have been too many unwanted notifications.

It is necessary to do these upgrades since security issues will only be fixed on the latest version of the software.

Thanks.

But should we not pray for people who make "selfish" requests?

I did not say that we shouldnt pray for them I only said that we should not pray for they're requests. You should still pray for them that God would draw them closer to Them but you should not reply to they're posts because if you do you leave impression that you prayed for they're selfish request not taht they would get to know God more.

So, how can I judge someone who ...

Well you cannot judge them in sense of condemnation because this right has only given to God. But what you can no is that you still do pray for them, not they're request and not leave reply, this is what I meant. You wouldn't approve sin just because you your self have been sinner. But you would correct the sinner with love in Christ.

And finally my brother(or sister) I am happy for you that you did no do that. Keep being strong in the Lord our God Jesus Christ to Whom be the honor and glory forever and ever. Amen!

I think that replying can be a way to show God's love, but not with "in Jesus name I prayed for this amen" and instead prayers about knowing God and being filled with His Spirit. It's God's goodness that leads men to repentance. Anyways, I used to think more along your lines, but my opinion has changed as some nights I could feel their emptiness and I know that once they are full of God that they will ask less and less selfish things :)

We don't know everyone's situations or why they may ask what they do. Perhaps they have come to a desperate place, I do not know. I don't think it is fair for me to judge anyone's request as being selfish. Whatever God wills will happen no matter what they ask for. We all respond to prayers differently. Sometimes I use the fast reply and sometimes I type it out but even my silent prayers when I hit that reply button are just like the ones I type out. I have seen people ask for makeup and I don't use it and have medicine for my face but being a Rosacea sufferer, see no reason why someone couldn't ask for prayer for it. When I see prayer requests perhaps for some kind of finances I usually pray God's provision for them even if they are asking for something as previously mentioned like winning lottery numbers. And I do often pray they can conserve and see blessings around them as well.

I do agree sometimes seeing a type out prayer in dire straits is so very comforting and I am so grateful for when people do this for me but even if someone hits quick reply, I know they care and their prayers are just as important.

Thanks all of you for your prayers. This is a wonderful site! May we all grow in Christ with each passing day and stand united as family in Him to continue to intercede for one another to our precious Savior!
