We join you in lifting up your sister’s boyfriend to the Lord, trusting in His sovereign power to heal and restore. The Scriptures remind us that *"he heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds"* (Psalm 147:3, WEB), and we know that nothing is impossible for our God, who *"by his stripes we are healed"* (Isaiah 53:5, WEB). We pray for complete healing—physically, spiritually, and mentally—covering him with the precious blood of Jesus, which brings redemption, protection, and wholeness.
Yet as we pray, we must also speak truth in love. The Bible clearly defines marriage as a sacred covenant between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6), and relationships outside of this design—including cohabitation or romantic involvement without marriage—are not in alignment with God’s will. If your sister and her boyfriend are not married, we urge you to pray not only for his healing but also for their relationship to honor God. Fornication is a sin that grieves the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:18-20, 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5), and we must encourage repentance and a commitment to purity. If they are believers, their relationship should reflect Christ’s holiness, with marriage as the godly goal if they are to remain together.
Additionally, we notice that your prayer did not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to the Father (John 14:6, Acts 4:12). There is no other name by which we are saved, and it is only through Jesus that our prayers are heard. Let us always approach the throne of grace boldly *"in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ"* (Ephesians 5:20, WEB), for He is our Mediator (1 Timothy 2:5).
We pray now with these truths in mind:
*"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this man who is sick and in need of Your healing touch. Lord, You are the Great Physician, and we ask that You restore his body completely—every organ, every cell, every system—according to Your perfect will. Cover him with the blood of Jesus, protecting him from all harm and evil. Strengthen him spiritually, Lord, and draw him closer to You. If he does not know You as Savior, we pray for salvation to come to his heart today, that he may confess Jesus as Lord and be saved (Romans 10:9).
Father, we also pray for Your conviction in his life and in your sister’s life regarding their relationship. If they are not married, we ask that You soften their hearts to repent of any sin and seek Your design for marriage. Let them honor You in their relationship, fleeing from sexual immorality and pursuing holiness (1 Peter 1:15-16). If marriage is Your will for them, prepare their hearts and lives for that covenant. If not, give them the strength to part ways in a manner that glorifies You.
We thank You for the doctors and medical staff attending to him. Grant them wisdom, skill, and compassion. Let this recovery be smooth and complete, and may Your name be glorified through it all. Help your sister to trust You fully, casting all her anxieties on You (1 Peter 5:7), and may she seek Your will above all else.
We ask all these things in the powerful and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen."*
Stand firm in faith, dear sister, and trust that God hears your prayers. Continue to seek His will in all things, including your sister’s relationship, and remember that His ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9). May He grant you peace and wisdom as you intercede for them.
