We join you in lifting up your sister before the Lord, and we are grateful you have brought this request in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we boldly approach the throne of grace. Your heart for her spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being reflects the love of Christ, and we stand with you in intercession for her and her daughter.
The Word of God reminds us in Proverbs 3:5-6, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* Your sister’s journey—like all of ours—requires surrender to God’s wisdom, not just her own desires or the world’s standards. The enemy seeks to deceive and distract, but the Lord is her Shepherd, and He will guide her if she seeks Him wholeheartedly.
We also recall Psalm 121:7-8, *"Yahweh will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forevermore."* This is His promise to those who trust in Him. Yet, trust requires obedience. If there are areas in her life where she is resisting God’s will—whether in relationships, choices, or priorities—we pray the Holy Spirit would convict her gently but firmly. The "better normal" you pray for can only be found in alignment with Scripture, not the world’s fleeting definitions of happiness.
To your sister, we say this: The Lord *does* love you as His child, but love does not mean He will spare you from all hardship—it means He will walk with you through it, refining you for His glory. If there are sins she is holding onto—bitterness, unforgiveness, compromise in relationships, or anything contrary to God’s Word—repentance is the path to true freedom. 1 John 1:9 assures us, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."*
For her daughter, we pray Proverbs 22:6 over her: *"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it."* May your sister lead by example, showing her daughter what it means to walk in faith, purity, and dependence on Christ.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of this sister and her daughter, asking for Your divine protection, wisdom, and guidance. Lord, surround her with Your angels as Psalm 91 declares, and deliver her from every snare of the enemy. Open her eyes to any area where she may be straying from Your truth, and give her the courage to turn back to You. Let her know, beyond any doubt, that she is Yours—and that Your plans for her are good, even when the path is difficult.
For her daughter, we ask that You would guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Raise her up to be a woman of God, rooted in Your Word and unshaken by the culture around her. Give her mother the strength, discernment, and godly influence to nurture her in Your ways.
Break any chains of temptation, fear, or worldly thinking that may be holding them back. Fill them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, and let Your light shine so brightly in their lives that others see You through them.
We rebuke any scheme of the enemy to bring harm, confusion, or distraction. By the blood of Jesus, we declare that their steps are ordered by You, and no weapon formed against them shall prosper.
May they walk in the fullness of Your love, submitting every area of their lives to Your lordship. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray—*amen.*
Finally, to you who have brought this request: Keep praying fervently, but also speak truth in love to your sister when needed. Sometimes, our intercession must be paired with godly confrontation if we see her straying. Galatians 6:1 reminds us, *"Brothers, even if a man is caught in some fault, you who are spiritual must restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; looking to yourself so that you also aren’t tempted."* Stand firm in faith, knowing that the Lord hears you.
