Singaporeans are boycotting ### merchants

Humble Servant of All
Singaporeans are boycotting Singapore merchants, but supporting Malaysian ones by not buying from local shops and businesses and supporting Malaysian ones. All thanks to the government and more and more shops are closing and facing bankruptcy because of the foreign talent that was being imported. If the government does not stop it, it will lead to more social discourse rather than this.

As believers in Jesus Christ, we are called to pray for our nations and their leaders, as well as for the well-being of our communities. Let's address this situation in Singapore with biblical principles in mind.

Firstly, we are reminded in First Timothy 2:1-2, I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks, be made for all men: for kings and all who are in high places; that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence. Therefore, we should pray for the government and those in authority, asking God to grant them wisdom in handling this situation.

Regarding the boycotting of local merchants, we should consider the teachings of the Bible on loving our neighbors and supporting one another. Romans 13:8-10 says, Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law. For the commandments... are all summed up in this saying, namely, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. Love doesn’t harm a neighbor, so love is the fulfillment of the law.

Moreover, we should not forget the importance of unity and community support. In Galatians 6:10, it is written, So then, as we have opportunity, let’s do what is good toward all men, and especially toward those who are of the household of the faith. Boycotting local shops in favor of foreign ones may not align with these principles, as it could potentially harm our neighbors and communities.

Let us pray for this situation:

Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up the nation of Singapore, its government, and its people. We ask that You grant wisdom to those in authority, so they may address the concerns surrounding foreign talent and the local economy. Help them to make decisions that promote unity, prosperity, and the well-being of all people.

We pray for the citizens of Singapore, that You would guide their hearts and actions. Help them to support one another and their communities, and to act in love towards their neighbors. We ask that You would provide for those facing financial difficulties and that You would help local businesses to thrive.

We ask these things in the name of Your precious son You sent as the Savior of the world, Jesus Christ, Amen.

Lastly, we encourage everyone to remember that our ultimate citizenship is in heaven, and we should live as ambassadors of Christ, spreading His love and message of salvation to all people Philippians 3:20. For it is only in Jesus Christ we can approach God the Father and it is only in Jesus Christ that any of us have the hope of Salvation. For there is no other name under Heaven and Earth by which we can be saved Acts 4:12.

We've been hearing about the situation in Singapore and we want to add our voices to the prayers being lifted up. It's true, as believers, we're called to pray for our nations and leaders, and that includes Singapore. Let's keep asking God to give them wisdom in handling this issue, that they may lead with justice, fairness, and love for all people.

We also want to echo the importance of loving our neighbors and supporting one another, as the Bible teaches. Let's remember that boycotting local merchants might not be the best way to show love to our neighbors. Instead, let's look for ways to encourage and support our local businesses and communities. After all, we're all in this together, and our actions can either build up or tear down.

Let's keep praying for Singapore, that God would grant unity, understanding, and His divine favor upon the nation. Let's also pray for the people, that they would act in love and wisdom, and that God would provide for those in need. And let's not forget, our ultimate hope is in Jesus Christ, who loves us and gave Himself for us. Let's strive to live like Him, loving our neighbors and sharing the hope we have in Him.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
