Since God did not do what I wanted or bless me with a job###

Faithful Servant
Since God did not do what I wanted or bless me with a job I will not go to church or read the Bible as now I need a space with church and God and whatever have to do with Christianity to breathe and reconsider my faith since it is useless and getting too much time.

We understand the deep disappointment and frustration you are feeling, and we want to speak truth into this moment with love and urgency. Your pain is real, and it is okay to wrestle with God in honesty—but walking away from Him is the most dangerous response you could choose. The idea that faith is "useless" because God has not given you what you wanted reveals a fundamental misunderstanding of who God is and what He promises. He is not a cosmic vending machine who exists to fulfill our demands, nor does He owe us comfort, success, or immediate blessings. Instead, He is the Sovereign Lord who works all things—even our suffering—for His glory and our ultimate good (Romans 8:28). Job, a man who lost everything, still declared, *"Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him"* (Job 13:15). Your trial is not evidence that God has failed you; it is an invitation to trust Him more deeply than ever before.

You say you need "space" from God, but let us warn you with the gravity this deserves: there is no neutral ground with the Lord. Either you are drawing near to Him, or you are drifting into rebellion. Hebrews 3:12-13 says, *"Beware, brothers, lest perhaps there be in any one of you an evil heart of unbelief, in falling away from the living God; but exhort one another day by day, so long as it is called ‘today’; lest any one of you be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin."* Walking away from church, the Bible, and fellowship is not a path to clarity—it is a path to spiritual hardening. The enemy would love nothing more than for you to isolate yourself in bitterness, where lies can take root unchecked. Do not give him that foothold (Ephesians 4:27).

As for your unemployment, we do not minimize that struggle. Proverbs 13:12 tells us, *"Hope deferred makes the heart sick,"* and we know this season is painful. But even here, God is at work. He may be refining your trust, humbling your heart, or preparing you for something you cannot yet see. Instead of retreating, we urge you to *press into* Him with raw honesty. Tell Him your anger, your doubts, your fears—He can handle them. But do not cut off the very source of life and strength you need to endure. Psalm 73:26 says, *"My flesh and my heart fails, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever."*

Let us also speak plainly: if you walk away from God because He did not give you a job, what will you do when harder trials come? Will you abandon Him if you face sickness, betrayal, or death? A faith that depends on circumstances was never true faith at all. True faith clings to Christ *especially* when the path is dark. Jesus never promised an easy life—He promised *Himself*. *"I am the way, the truth, and the life"* (John 14:6). He is enough, even when the answer is "no" or "wait."

We are pleading with you, as brothers and sisters in Christ: do not turn your back on the only One who can save you. Repent of this rebellion before it takes root. Return to church—not because you feel like it, but because you *need* it. Open your Bible, even if it feels hollow at first. Cry out to God in desperation, and let Him meet you there. He is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18), but He resists the proud (James 4:6). Humble yourself before Him, and He *will* lift you up in His time.

---
**Let us pray for you:**

Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister to You in this moment of deep struggle and disillusionment. Lord, their heart is wounded, and they are tempted to walk away from You in anger. But You know their pain—You see their need for work, their frustration, and their exhaustion. Father, do not let them go. Pursue them with Your love. Break their hardness of heart and draw them back to Yourself. Remind them that You are God, and You alone are worthy of their trust, regardless of circumstances.

Lord, we rebuke the lie that faith in You is "useless." You are the Creator of the universe, the Redeemer of souls, and the only hope for eternity. Open their eyes to see that walking away from You is walking into darkness. Convict them by Your Spirit of the danger of their path, and give them the strength to repent and return.

We pray for provision in their job search, but more than that, we pray for a renewed surrender to Your will. Teach them to seek *You* above all else, knowing that when they delight in You, You will give them the desires of their heart (Psalm 37:4). Fill them with Your peace that surpasses understanding, and surround them with believers who will speak truth and encouragement into their life.

Do not let them be deceived, Lord. Do not let them harden their heart. Bring them back to the cross, where Your love was proven once for all. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and only Hope, we pray. **Amen.**

If your faith depends on getting what you want, then you never really knew God in the first place. God isn’t a vending machine for blessings — He’s the Lord. Faith is tested when He seems silent. That’s when you find out whether you actually trust Him or only wanted His gifts.

We're here with you, friend. We understand the struggle feels overwhelming, like God's not coming through. But remember, even when it's hard, He's right there with you. He's not a cosmic vending machine, but a loving Father who's got your best interest at heart. Job didn't understand why he suffered, yet he chose to trust God. We're not minimizing your pain, but we urge you, don't turn away from Him now. He's your strength, your portion, forever. Let's press into Him together, raw and honest. He can handle it. And remember, true faith clings to Christ, especially in the dark. He's enough, even when the answer is 'no' or 'wait'. Let's return to church, not because it's easy, but because we need it. Let's open our Bibles, cry out to God, and let Him meet us there. He's near to the brokenhearted. Let's humble ourselves before Him and trust He'll lift us up in His time.

Thank you Heavenly Father for blessing us with another day, and for all you do for all of us. All glory and honor belongs to you Father. I lift this prayer up on your glory Father God and ask that you grant patience and peace of mind to this requestor. In Jesus name I pray. Amen
