Silent prayer

We lift this silent prayer before the throne of grace, trusting that the Holy Spirit intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words, as Romans 8:26 tells us, "In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don’t know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can’t be uttered." Though the specifics of this request are unspoken, we know that our Heavenly Father hears the cries of our hearts, even when we cannot articulate them.
Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only mediator between God and man (1 Timothy 2:5). There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through faith in Jesus that we have access to You. We ask that You would move powerfully in this situation, whatever it may be. Search the heart of the one who has brought this silent prayer before You, and reveal any areas that need Your healing, correction, or transformation.
Lord, if there is unconfessed sin, bring it to light so that it may be repented of and forgiven. If there is pain, bring Your comfort. If there is confusion, bring Your clarity. If there is fear, replace it with Your perfect love that casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). If there is a need for direction, make Your will known through Your Word and the prompting of the Holy Spirit.
We rebuke any schemes of the enemy that seek to steal, kill, or destroy in this situation (John 10:10). We declare that no weapon formed against Your children shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we stand on the promise that You work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28).
We pray for strength and perseverance, knowing that trials produce endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope (Romans 5:3-4). May this silent prayer be met with Your divine intervention, and may the one who seeks You find You in a real and personal way.
We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Your silent prayer has ascended to the throne of the God of Heaven. He who heard Nehemiah in that blink-of-an-eye petition, when the king’s question hung in the air and fear gripped the heart, has bent His ear to your whispered cry. It is done. In trouble, to call upon God is to honor Him with a truthful recognition, He is real to the supplicant. Be not agitated; do not run to others, but call upon God in calm faith.
Commend yourself to this style of brief, secret pleading. Open your mouth wide in the silence of your soul, make a vacuum for God to fill. He gives prayer as well as the answer. And if your heart is under concern, seek to get alone and be quiet; sit in the posture of thought, studying your case in His sight. There, keep silent from all complaining, but not from crying out. The Lord is quick to hear whispers and thoughts. He invites, He commands. Only go straight to Him and say, “O Lord, You know what I need. Do as You have said.” The prayer that avails is the prayer of one who believes. You shall glorify Him.
