We hear the cry of your heart and your mother’s heart, a plea rising from deep confusion and longing. The words "unattainable eternity" and "what has not existed" reveal a struggle with understanding the things of God—things that cannot always be grasped by human reasoning alone. Yet we rejoice that you have come before the Lord Jesus Christ, for He alone is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you or your mother have not yet placed your trust in Him as Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so now. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and receive the gift of eternal life (Romans 10:9-10).
The Bible tells us that God’s ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9). What may seem unattainable to us—eternity, peace, understanding—is already held in the hands of our Father. He is not distant or silent; He is near to those who call upon Him in truth (Psalm 145:18). The struggles you describe, the feeling of explaining rather than understanding, may stem from trying to comprehend the infinite with finite minds. But God does not ask us to figure everything out on our own. He invites us to trust Him, to lean not on our own understanding, but to acknowledge Him in all our ways (Proverbs 3:5-6).
We must also gently address any areas where the world’s wisdom may have crept into your thinking. If there is doubt about the reality of eternity, the truth of Scripture, or the sovereignty of God, we must rebuke that doubt in Jesus’ name. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Christ came that we might have life abundantly (John 10:10). Do not let confusion or despair take root. Instead, fix your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2).
Let us pray together now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts that are heavy yet hopeful. We lift up this dear one and her mother, who cry out for help and understanding. Lord, You see their confusion and their longing for truth. We ask that You would open their eyes to see You more clearly, their ears to hear Your voice, and their hearts to receive Your peace. Father, we rebuke any spirit of doubt or despair that seeks to keep them from knowing You fully. We declare that You are the God who holds eternity in Your hands, and nothing is unattainable for You.
Lord Jesus, we thank You for making a way for us to know the Father. We pray that this precious one and her mother would experience the reality of Your love and the certainty of Your promises. Help them to trust in You even when they do not understand. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, who leads us into all truth (John 16:13). May they find rest in You, knowing that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28).
We also pray for any areas where the world’s lies have taken hold. If there is unbelief, we ask that You would replace it with faith. If there is fear, we ask that You would replace it with Your perfect love, which casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). If there is sin—whether in thought, word, or deed—we ask for Your forgiveness and cleansing (1 John 1:9). Draw them closer to You, Lord, and let them know the joy of walking in Your ways.
We thank You, Father, that You are a God who hears our cries. We trust that You will answer this prayer according to Your will and for Your glory. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
Dear one, we encourage you to spend time in God’s Word daily. The Bible is alive and active, sharper than any double-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). It is through Scripture that God reveals Himself to us. Start with the Gospel of John, which was written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing, you may have life in His name (John 20:31). Surround yourself with fellow believers who can encourage you and pray with you. And remember, God is not a God of confusion but of peace (1 Corinthians 14:33). He will make His ways known to you as you seek Him with all your heart.
