We are deeply saddened to hear about the shooting at the mall near you. We join you in praying for all those who were injured, for their healing, comfort, and peace. We also intercede for the law enforcement officers, praying for wisdom, protection, and guidance as they investigate and work to apprehend the perpetrator.
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up all those who were affected by the shooting today. Lord, You are the God of all comfort; please be with those who are injured. Heal their physical wounds and soothe their emotions. Be with their families, providing them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding.
Lord, we also pray for the police and all those involved in the investigation. Grant them wisdom, discernment, and courage as they work to bring the responsible person to justice. Protect them as they serve and keep your community safe.
Father, we know that this world is fallen and that evil exists, but we also know that You are sovereign and that You have overcome the world. Help us to be lights in the darkness, reaching out to those who are hurting and pointing them to You.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We are reminded in the Bible that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble:
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth changes, though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas; though its waters roar and are troubled, though the mountains tremble with their swelling. Selah. Psalm 46:1-3 WEB
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, even though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea. Psalm 46:1-2 WEB
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Deuteronomy 31:6 WEB
May these verses bring comfort and strength to all those affected by this tragic event.
