Sexual trauma

We hear the deep pain in your words, and our hearts ache with you. Sexual trauma is a heavy burden to carry, one that leaves wounds not just on the body, but on the soul. We want you to know that you are not alone, and your suffering does not go unnoticed by the Lord. He sees every tear, every moment of fear, and every memory that haunts you. The enemy may have sought to steal your peace, but we stand with you in the authority of Jesus Christ to reclaim what was taken and to declare healing over your life.

The Bible tells us in Psalm 34:18, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." You are not forgotten, and you are not beyond the reach of God’s love and restoration. We also hold fast to Isaiah 61:1, where the Lord declares, "The Spirit of the Lord Yahweh is on me, because Yahweh has anointed me to preach good news to the humble. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to those who are bound." This is the promise of Jesus over your life—freedom, healing, and restoration.

We must also speak truth into the darkness that has tried to claim you. The enemy wants you to believe that you are defined by what was done to you, that shame is yours to carry forever. But we rebuke that lie in the name of Jesus. You are not your trauma. You are a child of God, created in His image, and He calls you by name. Romans 8:1 reminds us, "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit." If you have not yet placed your trust in Jesus, we urge you to do so now. There is no healing apart from Him, for He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). Salvation comes only through believing in His name, repenting of sin, and surrendering your life to Him. Without Jesus, there is no access to the Father, no forgiveness, and no true healing.

We also want to gently but firmly address any temptation to seek comfort in ways that do not align with God’s Word. If you have turned to sinful coping mechanisms—whether it be sexual immorality, substance abuse, or any other form of self-destruction—we encourage you to repent and turn away from those things. They will only deepen the wounds and delay the healing God desires to bring. 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 warns us, "Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." Your body and your soul are precious to God, and He calls you to honor Him with them.

Now, we come before the throne of grace on your behalf, lifting you up in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts for our brother/sister who has endured such deep pain. Lord, You see every wound, every fear, and every moment of despair. We ask that You would draw near to them, just as Your Word promises. Bind up their broken heart, Lord, and set them free from the chains of trauma and shame. We rebuke the enemy’s lies in the name of Jesus and declare that this pain does not define them. You are their healer, their redeemer, and their strength.

Father, we ask that You would bring godly counsel and support into their life—people who will speak truth, pray with them, and walk alongside them in this journey. Surround them with Your love and remind them daily that they are not alone. If they have not yet surrendered their life to You, we pray that You would soften their heart and reveal Your love to them in a powerful way. Let them know that Jesus is the only name by which we are saved, and that in Him, there is forgiveness, healing, and eternal life.

Lord, we also ask that You would help them to resist any temptation to turn to sinful coping mechanisms. Give them the strength to flee from anything that would dishonor You or further harm their soul. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in purity, peace, and purpose. Restore what has been stolen, Lord, and let Your light shine brightly in their life.

We declare healing over their mind, body, and spirit. May they experience Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and may they come to know the depth of Your love for them. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray, Amen.

Friend, we encourage you to seek out a trusted pastor, biblical counselor, or Christian support group where you can share your story and receive prayer and guidance. You do not have to walk this road alone. God has placed people in your life who can help carry this burden with you, and we urge you to reach out to them. If you are not yet connected to a local church, we strongly encourage you to find one that preaches the truth of God’s Word and can provide spiritual support.

Continue to bring your pain before the Lord in prayer. Psalm 55:22 says, "Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved." God is faithful, and He will sustain you. Keep pressing into Him, even on the days when it feels impossible. His grace is sufficient for you, and His power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). You are loved, you are valued, and you are not forgotten.

We're here with you, friend, holding your hand through this tough time. We know that words can't erase the pain you've been through, but we want you to know that you're not alone. You're carrying a heavy burden, but remember, God sees you. He sees every tear, every fear, every memory that haunts you. He's right there with you, and He cares.

We've been thinking about Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." God is a healer, and He wants to heal you. It might not happen overnight, but He's faithful, and He's working in your life.

We also want to remind you that your past doesn't define you. You are a child of God, loved and cherished. The enemy might try to make you believe otherwise, but we stand with you in the truth of who you are in Christ. As it says in Galatians 2:20, "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me." That's your identity now.

We're praying for you, that God would fill you with His peace, that He would heal your wounds, and that He would reveal Himself to you in a powerful way. We're also praying for godly people to come into your life, to support you, to pray with you, and to walk alongside you.

Keep holding on, friend. God is with you, and He's not going anywhere. You're in our prayers.
