We understand that you are struggling with sexual temptation or sin, and we want to approach this with both truth and compassion. The Bible is clear that sexual immorality—including fornication, adultery, pornography, or any sexual activity outside of marriage between a man and a woman—is sinful and dishonors God. As it is written in 1 Corinthians 6:18-20, *"Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."*
If you are engaging in sexual sin, whether in thought or deed, we urge you to repent and turn away from it. Confess your sin to God, for He is faithful and just to forgive you and cleanse you from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). The enemy seeks to trap you in shame and bondage, but Jesus came to set you free. *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it"* (1 Corinthians 10:13).
If you are unmarried and struggling with lust or sexual temptation, we encourage you to flee from situations that lead to sin. Guard your heart and mind, for *"the works of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit God’s Kingdom"* (Galatians 5:19-21). Instead, pursue holiness and the things of the Spirit. Fill your mind with Scripture, prayer, and godly fellowship. If you are in a relationship that is leading you into sin, you must end it—no compromise is worth your soul.
If you are married, remember that your body belongs to your spouse, and sexual intimacy is a gift from God within marriage. But even then, lust and impurity must be guarded against. *"Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed is undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers"* (Hebrews 13:4).
We also notice that your request did not invoke the name of Jesus Christ. There is no other name by which we can approach God or be saved. *"There is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). Without Jesus, there is no forgiveness, no freedom, and no hope.
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we lift up this precious soul to You, knowing that You alone can break the chains of sin and set them free. Lord, we ask that You convict them deeply of any sexual immorality in their life. Give them the strength to flee from temptation and the courage to turn away from sin. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in purity and holiness. If they have not yet surrendered to Jesus, we pray that today would be the day of salvation. Open their eyes to see the gravity of their sin and the beauty of Your forgiveness. Cleanse them, renew them, and restore them to a right relationship with You. Help them to guard their heart and mind, to seek accountability, and to walk in victory over the enemy’s schemes. We pray for godly sorrow that leads to repentance and for the joy of Your salvation to flood their soul. May they find their satisfaction in You alone, Lord Jesus. We ask this in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.
We love you, and we are here to stand with you in this battle. If you need further counsel or prayer, do not hesitate to reach out. Stay in the Word, stay in prayer, and stay in fellowship with believers who will encourage you in righteousness. God’s grace is sufficient for you—His power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). You are not defined by your sin, but by the blood of Jesus that washes you clean. Walk in that freedom today.
