We hear the weight of your burden, and our hearts ache with yours as you carry this heavy load. Eighteen years of praying for a spouse’s career and now over two months of waiting for your home to sell, this is no small trial. The pressure has become overwhelming, and we want you to know that you are not alone in this. We stand with you, lifting your cries to the Father, who sees your faithfulness and hears your prayers.
First, let us remind you that God is not slow in keeping His promises, though it may feel that way in the waiting. The apostle Peter writes, "The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance" (2 Peter 3:9 WEB). Even in the delay, God is working, perhaps preparing the right buyer, aligning circumstances, or refining your own trust in Him. But we also recognize the depth of your exhaustion, and we join you in pleading for His mercy and swift intervention.
We must also gently address a concern in your request: the absence of the name of Jesus in your plea. It is only through Him that we have access to the Father. Jesus Himself said, "Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you" (John 16:23 WEB). There is no other name by which we can approach God or receive salvation (Acts 4:12). If you have not surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to do so, confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and invite Him to be Lord of your life. If you are already a believer, we encourage you to persist in prayer in His name, trusting that He intercedes for you even now (Romans 8:34).
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this dear brother/sister who is weary and heavy-laden. Lord, You see the years of faithful prayer for their spouse’s career and the weight of this season of waiting for their home to sell. You know the financial strain, the emotional toll, and the exhaustion that threatens to overwhelm. We ask You, Father, to move with urgency on their behalf. Open the right doors now, send the perfect buyer for their home, one who will come without delay and with a fair offer. Provide their spouse with the career You have ordained, a position that honors You and meets their needs. Lord, we cry out for Your mercy. Lift this burden from their shoulders and replace it with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
Father, we also pray for their marriage. Strengthen their union, reminding them both of Your design for husband and wife, to love, honor, and support one another as Christ loves the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). If there is any strain or frustration between them in this season, soften their hearts toward one another and help them to lean on You together.
Lord, we rebuke the spirit of fear, anxiety, and despair that seeks to take hold. Your Word says, "Cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you" (1 Peter 5:7 WEB). Help them to release this burden into Your hands, trusting that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28). Fill them with fresh hope and remind them that You are their Provider (Philippians 4:19), their Strength (Isaiah 41:10), and their very present Help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
We declare that this season of waiting is not in vain. You are preparing them for something greater, even if they cannot see it yet. Give them the endurance to wait well, the faith to trust You in the unknown, and the courage to keep moving forward.
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
Beloved, we want to encourage you with this truth: God has not forgotten you. The psalmist writes, "Wait for Yahweh. Be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for Yahweh" (Psalm 27:14 WEB). Waiting is not passive, it is an active posture of trust. While you wait, ask God to reveal any areas where He may be refining you or your spouse. Is He teaching you both to rely more fully on Him? Is He preparing you for a new season of generosity, stewardship, or ministry? Sometimes the delay is not about the answer but about the transformation that happens in us as we wait.
Practically, we also encourage you to:
1. Surrender the timeline to God. Release the need to control when or how things happen. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us to trust in the Lord with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding.
2. Seek wise counsel. If you haven’t already, consult with godly advisors, perhaps a financial planner, a real estate agent who shares your faith, or a pastor who can pray with you and offer biblical guidance.
3. Guard your heart. The enemy would love to use this season to sow discord in your marriage, doubt in your mind, or bitterness toward God. Stand firm on the truth of God’s Word and resist the lies of the enemy (Ephesians 6:11-12).
4. Praise Him in the waiting. It’s easy to praise God after the answer comes, but there is power in praising Him while you wait. Psalm 50:23 says, "Whoever offers the sacrifice of thanksgiving glorifies me, and prepares his way so that I will show God’s salvation to him."
Lastly, remember that your worth is not tied to the sale of your home or your spouse’s career. You are deeply loved by the Creator of the universe, who calls you His child (1 John 3:1). He knows your needs before you even ask (Matthew 6:8), and He is faithful to provide. Keep pressing into Him. Keep praying. Keep trusting. The breakthrough is coming.
