Seeking God’s Calling Over My Life

Anonymous

Beloved of All
I need prayer to seek God’s wisdom on how to use the gift of singing He’s given me. Singing is the only thing I do without effort or worry or obsession. It brings me joy especially when I sing for Him. Unfortunately, I have not sung in the church for around 9 months. I moved to a new state and settled into a new church, but I am overwhelmed by the application process. I know I can do it but my flesh tells me it will be a lot of work and I may not be deemed suitable since I’m not yet a member of the church and what if it takes a lot of time from my family. I know these feelings are not of God, and my soul wants to sing for His church, but I also want to do it for the right reasons. It can be easy to see worship as a performance for people rather than a natural response to God for making me and saving me. I’m afraid I may fall into this trap, I pray God shows me how to use this gift for Him and Him alone, whether it’s public or private, live or recorded, or even anonymous. I have always fantasized about singing as a profession, but I felt steered away from it by my parents who encouraged me to choose medicine or law (I went with the latter). Ultimately, whether I keep singing for Him or not, I want to steward what He’s given me wisely rather than burying it out of fear of not using it the way He wants me to. I know He is a loving and generous father who wants me to abide in Him as He abides in me, and that’s what I want to do.

I prayed that God in Jesus' name will answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God Loves You. Thank You Jesus!!!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

🙏Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. Bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God solution focused heart, mind, spirit, and attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We are deeply moved by your heart’s cry to seek God’s calling over your life, especially in the gift of singing He has entrusted to you. Your desire to use this gift for His glory alone is a beautiful reflection of a heart surrendered to Him, and we rejoice in your willingness to steward it wisely rather than bury it in fear. The struggle you describe—between the flesh’s hesitation and the soul’s longing to worship—is one many believers face, but we are encouraged by your recognition that these doubts are not from God. Let us turn to His Word to guide and strengthen you in this season.

The Lord has given each of us gifts not for our own glory, but for the building up of His body and the advancement of His kingdom. As it is written in **1 Peter 4:10-11 (WEB)**, *"As each has received a gift, employ it in serving one another, as good managers of the grace of God in its various forms. If anyone speaks, let it be as it were the very words of God. If anyone serves, let it be as of the strength which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen."* Your gift of singing is no accident—it is a divine appointment, and the Lord delights in your desire to use it for His purposes. The fear of it becoming a performance rather than worship is a godly concern, and we commend you for guarding your heart against this temptation. Remember, the Lord looks at the heart (1 Samuel 16:7), and if your motive is to honor Him, He will honor your obedience.

You also mentioned the hesitation tied to the application process, the fear of not being "deemed suitable," and the potential time commitment. These are practical concerns, but we must ask: are they rooted in trust in the Lord or in fear of man? **Proverbs 29:25 (WEB)** warns, *"The fear of man proves to be a snare, but whoever puts his trust in Yahweh is kept safe."* If the Lord has called you to sing for His church in this new place, He will open the doors no one can shut (Revelation 3:8). Your current status as a non-member should not deter you if this is where He is leading. Instead, let this be an opportunity to step out in faith, trusting that He will provide the time, the favor, and the wisdom to balance your responsibilities. Your family will be blessed as they see you walking in obedience, and the Lord will equip you to manage your time according to His will.

As for the fantasy of singing professionally, we must carefully examine this desire in light of Scripture. There is nothing inherently wrong with using your gift in a professional capacity, but we must ask: is this desire aligned with God’s calling for you, or is it a remnant of worldly ambition? **Colossians 3:23-24 (WEB)** reminds us, *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ."* If the Lord opens a door for you to sing professionally in a way that honors Him—whether in the church, in Christian ministry, or in the marketplace—then it can be a powerful tool for His glory. However, if this desire stems from a longing for personal recognition or fulfillment outside of His will, it must be surrendered. Your parents’ guidance toward medicine or law may have been well-intentioned, but the Lord’s plans for you are higher (Jeremiah 29:11). Seek Him first, and He will direct your steps (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Lastly, we must address the fact that your request did not invoke the name of Jesus. This is not a small matter, for it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, and it is in His name that we are saved. **John 14:6 (WEB)** declares, *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"*) And in **Acts 4:12 (WEB)**, we read, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* If you have not already placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so now. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection for your salvation, and surrender your life to Him. If you have already done this, then we encourage you to always approach the throne of grace in His name, for it is the name above all names (Philippians 2:9-11).

Now, let us pray together for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift up our sister to You, thanking You for the precious gift of singing You have placed within her. Lord, we ask that You would remove every fear, every doubt, and every hesitation that is not from You. Replace them with a bold and unwavering trust in Your goodness and sovereignty. Father, if it is Your will for her to sing in her new church, we pray You would open the doors wide and grant her favor with the leadership. Give her the wisdom to balance her time and responsibilities, and let her family see Your hand at work in her life. Protect her heart, Lord, from the snare of performing for man rather than worshiping You. May her singing always be a pure and holy offering, whether in public or in private, for Your eyes alone.

Father, we also ask that You would clarify Your calling over her life regarding her gift. If there is a place for her to sing professionally in a way that honors You, reveal it to her and guide her steps. But if this desire is rooted in anything less than Your glory, we pray You would gently pry it from her hands and replace it with a deeper satisfaction in You alone. Remind her that her identity is not in her gift, but in Christ, and that her worth is found in being Your beloved child.

Lord, we rebuke the spirit of fear that has kept her from stepping out in faith. We declare that You have not given her a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Fill her with Your Holy Spirit, and let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

Finally, Father, we thank You for her heart to abide in You. Draw her closer to Yourself as she seeks Your will. Let her find her joy not in the gift, but in the Giver. May she sing with all her heart to You, whether in a congregation, in her home, or in the secret place, knowing that You hear and delight in her worship.

We pray all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to take the first step, even if it feels small. Begin by speaking to someone in your church’s worship ministry, sharing your heart and your gift. Let them know you are seeking the Lord’s will and are open to serving in whatever capacity He leads. Trust that the Lord will honor your obedience. And as you wait on Him, continue to sing to Him in private, cultivating a heart of worship that is untouched by the opinions of man. The Lord is faithful, and He will guide you as you abide in Him. Keep seeking Him, and He will make your path straight.

Hi there,

We're right there with you, feeling the tug on your heart to use the gift of singing for God's glory. It's amazing how He's wired us, isn't it? The longing to sing, the joy it brings, and the desire to use it for His purposes - that's all Him.

We understand the fears and hesitations you're feeling. The application process can be overwhelming, and it's natural to worry about what others might think. But remember, God sees your heart. He knows your desire is pure, and He's proud of you for wanting to steward this gift wisely.

We love that you're seeking God's will in this. It's a beautiful thing to see someone so eager to use their gifts for His glory alone. We encourage you to keep seeking Him, keep praying, and keep singing. Even if it's just in your car or your shower, let those songs of praise flow. They're a sweet-smelling offering to Him.

As for the fantasy of singing professionally, we encourage you to lay that at God's feet. Ask Him if this is the path He wants you on. If it is, He'll make it clear. If it's not, He'll give you peace about letting it go. Either way, trust that He has a plan, and it's a good one.

We're praying for you, sister. We're asking God to give you clarity, courage, and a boldness to step out in faith. We're praying that He'll open the right doors and give you the wisdom to walk through them. And we're praying that, above all, you'll find your joy and satisfaction in Him.

Keep seeking Him. Keep singing. And trust that He's got this.

In Jesus' Name, we pray. Amen.

We want to thank you for allowing us the sacred honor of lifting your heart and your gift before the Lord these past few days. It has been our joy to stand with you in prayer as you seek God’s perfect will for how to use your voice for His glory—whether in the quiet places of worship, within the walls of His church, or in ways we cannot yet see. Your desire to steward this gift with purity of heart, free from the snares of performance or misplaced ambition, has resonated deeply with us. We know the Lord hears the cry of a heart that longs to abide in Him above all else.

We’re eager to hear how the Lord is leading you in this season. Have you sensed His gentle nudging toward a next step, whether that’s reaching out to your new church’s worship team, setting aside time to sing just for Him in private, or even exploring creative ways to bless others through your gift? If He has opened a door or brought clarity, we’d love for you to share a praise report so we can rejoice with you and give Him the glory. And if the path still feels unclear or the weight of hesitation lingers, we invite you to post your request again—we are more than willing to continue praying with you, asking the Lord to quiet the noise of fear and replace it with His perfect peace. His timing is never late, and His plans for you are good, even when the waiting feels long.

We’re also praying specifically against the lies that would tell you this gift is too small, too burdensome, or not "right" unless it looks a certain way. The Lord delights in your voice not because of what it can *do*, but because it is *yours*—a unique offering of worship from a heart He knit together. Whether He calls you to sing in a choir, in your kitchen, or in a recording studio, your obedience in using this gift *for Him alone* is what matters most.

As you continue to seek Him, may you rest in the truth that He is not a taskmaster demanding performance, but a Father inviting you to draw near. We’re cheering you on as you abide in Him, trusting that He will make the path clear in His perfect way and time.

We’re still here, still praying, and still believing for you—in Jesus’ name.
