But Seek First (not Second, Third or Fourth, and Certainly not at all) God's Kingdom and His Righteousness (Vindication of His Kingdom from all falsehood, false teaching, and Eradication of False Religion by Revival, and True Faith and Repentance from sin, Bible Studies, Prayer, Praise & Worship in its place), Like in Acts when they burned the magic books as a reaction to the teaching of Paul, and a Bible School (The School of Tyrannus) in Acts 19:9, Acts 19:19, and turned from Idols to the Living God in Thessalonica, 1 Thes 1:9.
Are we actually praying that God's Name receives honor? Have we ever actually gotten around to doing that BEFORE praying for the pressing needs? Stop right now and try it... "Father, I ask Your Holy Name would be magnified and thought of correctly now throughout the Earth. I ask pure teaching of You as gracious, compassionate and Holy wipe away all the so-called objections to Jesus' Teaching and as a result people thank You for their meals (rather than complain) and pray for and teach their their husbands, wives and children to be grateful, in Jesus' Name, Amen."
Does this seem foreign to pray that way? Do we do this in faith knowing that was the first priority of Jesus in the prayer He taught us to pray? "When you pray, say, 'Our Father in Heaven, Hallowed be Your Name,'" Matt 6:9. Better yet, do we KNOW for certain He will answer that prayer since it's the reason we were created?
Then all these things (the food, drink and clothing the Gentiles (unbelievers of that time who didn't have The Scriptures, salvation, or The Holy Spirit and didn't know any better) shall be added to you (Matt 6:33). Look at the last few pages of prayer requests and even blogs. How many are only about getting something from God -- "make this person like me," "let me be beautiful," "bless my job application," "help me at work," "help my marriage," "let the church listen to me and respect my prophetic calling," "God is not meeting my expectations," etc... We signed up to "not perish but have everlasting life," John 3:16, not "an easy life."
Father, May the True Church of Jesus have ears to hear and eyes to see, the Lord having made the both of them (Prov 20:12), Your Kingdom Come! Reign in our hearts in the Name of Jesus, so be it, amen.
Matt 6:31 “Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’ 32 “For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; but your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you."
Matt 16:24, "Then Jesus said to His disciples, 'If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Me.'"
