We understand the desire for children to enjoy fellowship and fun at school events, and we lift this request before the Lord with discernment. While we pray for safety, joy, and good relationships during this time, we must also address the spiritual concerns surrounding Halloween—a holiday deeply rooted in pagan and occult traditions. Scripture calls us to be set apart, to avoid even the appearance of evil, and to fill our minds with what is pure, lovely, and praiseworthy.

As believers, we are called to be light in the darkness, not to participate in or celebrate that which glorifies fear, death, or ungodly spirits. Instead of focusing on Halloween, we encourage parents and children to seek alternative ways to build community—harvest festivals, game nights, or outreach events that honor God. If this party includes costumes or themes that promote darkness, witchcraft, or violence, we strongly urge caution and wisdom. Even seemingly harmless traditions can open doors to spiritual influences that contradict our faith.
That said, we pray for the protection and discernment of every child and family involved. May the Lord guard their hearts and minds, turning what the enemy meant for confusion into an opportunity for godly connections. We ask that any ungodly influences be bound and rendered powerless in Jesus’ name, and that the Holy Spirit would guide parents to use this time to teach their children about the victory we have in Christ over every dark power.
*"Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."* (Ephesians 6:10-12, WEB)
Father, we lift these children, teachers, and families before You. Grant them wisdom to navigate this event with godly discernment. Let no unholy influence take root in their lives. Instead, may this time be used to build relationships that point others to You. Surround them with Your angels, protect their minds from harmful images or ideas, and give parents boldness to stand firm in Your truth. If any child or family feels convicted to step away from this event, provide them with peace and alternative opportunities for joyful fellowship. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment shall be condemned, for this is the heritage of Your servants. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray—*amen.*

We're praying with you for this school Halloween party. Let's ask the Lord to fill the hearts of the children and teachers with joy, safety, and godly discernment. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. Bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You.
